THE BEST OF: 2017 Engagement Sessions!!!

Wow! What a year of sessions it’s been! We were so privileged to have photographed sessions this year in Virginia, South Carolina, the mountains of Western NC, then all the way to the beaches in eastern NC this year! It’s been fun photographing in new places, allowing our creativity to blossom in a whole new way!

 

Here are a few of our favorite Engagement Session moments in 2017:

1. Chelsea + Jeff took us to the MOUNTAINS for their Engagement Session! It went down as truly an EPIC session, with beautiful winter weather, sunshine, and views for miles. We literally photographed until dark – it was such an amazing session!

2. Hannah + Connor gave us a location with SPANISH MOSS which my little southern-plantation heart was in HEAVEN over. Their session also goes down in history where we saw a LIVE ALLIGATOR (not in a cage, by the way) RIGHT BESIDE US!!!! Ummmmm bye.

3. My best friend Katie got engaged, and we photographed her & Matt’s Engagement Session at the beach! It was super special – and Phillip even flew his drone!!!

4. One of the WINDIEST sessions we’ve ever photographed, but Eric + Suzanne still were game for shooting IN THEIR SAILBOAT on the water. It was really unique and really “them”.

4. ALL THE DOGS!!!! This is Phillip’s heaven. Sooooo many couples incorporated their furry babies, and Phillip was super happy to be on dog duty. So, a big thanks to: Mary Kaitlyn + Nathan, Paige & Josh, Mary Helen & Jeff, Erin & Blake, Courtney & David, and Wade & Rebecca (even though Phillip wasn’t there!) for making my husband’s day.

5. ALL THE JOY!!!!! As I look back over the Engagement Sessions we photographed in 2017, I see HAPPINESS on all our couples faces. There’s truly nothing more that makes me happy than seeing this joy. THANK YOU GUYS for being vulnerable with us, having fun, and letting your joyfulness show!!!!!!!

 

My LEAST FAVORITE MOMENT OF 2017 Engagement Sessions:

Began as one of the BEST moments… we were shooting a truly joyful and STUNNING session at the beach with Tyler + Matthew… when I messed it all up and slipped on a wet rock and FELL INTO AN OYSTER BED!!!!

I was bleeding literally all over, with several deep cuts in my wrist, arm, hand, knee, and leg, and needed STITCHES (for the first time in my life.)

Matthew and Tyler were amazing to me – they made phone calls to doctors, helped me get napkins to stop the bleeding, and continued to check up on me throughout the whole evening – AND sent me a care package the next day!!!!!

Worst moment = getting hurt, but truly one of the BEST sessions we’ve ever photographed. Worth it maybe? Haha!
