Katie & Matt = Engagement Session!

It’s pretty special to have the honor of photographing your BEST FRIEND’S Engagement Session. When Katie asked me to be her Matron of Honor AND their wedding photographers, we were so thrilled 🙂

Katie was my college roommate at Barton. We became like sisters – sharing clothes, going on trips to the lake & beach together, taking classes together, and making so many fun memories (Katie – remember the time as freshmen we got broken up with in the SAME day, and cried on our bunkbeds together for a week???) She’s the type of loyal friend who always reaches out to make plans when I’m way too busy to text her first & when I’m bad at texting back.

Katie & Matt wanted something really special for their Engagement Session location, and I wanted to deliver!! I researched online for MONTHS for awesome spots, looking at maps, blogs, and taking all sorts of notes. Katie & I texted, emailed, and got together for coffee dates for several months to catch up and plan the session, outfits, jewelry, and timing of each location!

Finally, the day came and we had PERFECT weather. It wasn’t too hot, we had a slight breeze, and the sun peeked out when we needed it, and went behind clouds when we didn’t need it.

I loved seeing the relationship Katie and Matt have from my perspective behind the lens. Matt AND Katie both were giggling throughout the entire session (seriously) and I loved watching how Matt makes my friend happy. Matt also was very protective to help Katie climb over all the rocks (without getting her dress wet) and he even picked Katie up to CARRY HER across the sand, so her feet wouldn’t get too sandy.

We had a whirlwind of a session between all the outfits, locations, and posing we got accomplished, but we had a FUN TIME doing it!!!

Phillip even took his drone and flew it around Katie & Matt on the rocks, and made a GORGEOUS short video of them. It was really unique to add that touch!!

It was REALLY HARD to pick out my favorite photographs, but I hope you enjoy this little Sneak Peek of these two lovebirds!!! We can’t WAIT until JULY!!!!! 🙂
