River Dunes Wedding Day | Hunter & Connor | October 10, 2026
This was an extra special wedding for us – one we’d look forward to for a long time! Back in 2026, we photographed Amanda & James’ beautiful wedding day (click HERE to see it!) and we fell in love with Amanda’s friend group that called themselves BABS! We were lucky enough that a year later, we had our second BABS wedding – photographing Katie & Gage’s stunning Charleston wedding (click HERE to see it!) And now, the last member of the BABS group, Hunter, just married Connor – and we had the honor of photographing it too! She’s been the biggest cheerleader and hype girl at her friends weddings, and it was finally time for Hunter to be the BRIDE and be celebrated by everyone else! :)
We’d been watching weather all week – and what was supposed to be just a cloudy wedding day was quickly turning into a STORM as the days got closer. On Thursday we were already talking through plans for the weekend with the vendor team – and Friday morning we were getting calls & texts that we may just go ahead and shoot the whole ceremony (or maybe just bride & groom portraits) a day early (Friday) so they could have outdoor photos before the storm rolled in!!! Hunter and Connor had a lot of big decisions to make on Friday – with lots of options that their vendor team were all amazing to be flexible and make whatever they chose to happen a full day early!!!! (Shoutout to their amazing planner & florist, Val Conger of Your Perfect Day – for truly offering any option to them!! Get you a planner who will do ANYTHING to make your wedding perfect!) We packed up 2 hours early for their Rehearsal, and hit the road – still not knowing what we’d shoot that day!!!
After lots of prayer and consideration – Hunter & Connor felt God was asking them to just place their trust in HIM, and not take things into their own hands to try and control it all. So, they decided to just move forward with Rehearsal, Dinner, and Welcome Party as planned. Since I was there early, I was able to knock out detail photos instead – so we could be more flexible Saturday morning, for whatever the weather threw at us!
The Welcome Evening was AMAZING – sweet speeches, a beautiful dinner, an al fresco party with drinks, snacks, cake – and a surprise for Connor – a BAND there to play music for the evening!!! He was so surprised and excited!!
We woke up Saturday morning & got to the venue early – so we could switch around the timeline if needed depending on the weather! The girls were all getting ready, having the BEST TIME listening to music, snacking, and lounging in their cute custom monogrammed PJs! The vibes were SO GOOD and Hunter was in great spirits!!! She was an INCREDIBLE bride all day – just going with the flow for Plan A, B, C – switching things around depending on when the rain was heavy or light!!!! Hunter – you were AMAZING!!!!
We had rain the whole entire day, but at times it was light enough to go outside with umbrellas, or the media team to be out in the rain while we had them under porches!!! It was truly a blessing that we were able to get the photos that we did – since the day looked like a washout & rained for 14 hours straight. Wow! And, having a bride & groom to be so willing to embrace the day & just ENJOY the day was incredible!!! Shoutout to the bridal party for getting out in the rain with us too!!!
Hunter & Connor had a sweet First Look, in the chapel where the ceremony was supposed to happen. They exchanged private vows & had some quality time together, which I think is really special on a wedding day. Then we photographed portraits out in the rain!!! The chapel looked stunning with all the florals, and it was such a blessing to get photos there!!! Hunter & Connor were so patient with all of us, and willing to do anything to make photos happen!!! SO IMPRESSED by both of them!!! Truly!!
Then we photographed Bridal Party photos between weather patterns of light to heavy rain – and then moved ceremony chairs indoors to photograph family portraits! The ceremony was next, and it was so beautiful in the Harbor Club room inside! It was sooooo sweet seeing Connor tear up as he saw his bride coming down the aisle to him!!! Precious! Then, they had a Sax Line – leading them out of the ceremony to the cocktail hour! SO FUN!!!!
Guests were immediately greeted with several different custom cocktails, appetizers, and music!!! So fun! ALSO….. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE RECEPTION TENT!?!?! Wow…. Actually blown away by the design – the colors, patterns, florals, chandeliers, custom details, everything was amazinggggg. I had the best time photographing it!!!
The reception kicked off with a bang – no surprise there for our reception-loving bride! Their groomsman, Omar, sang their First Dance song (wow, amazing) and then they had the MOST AMAZING NIGHT! Hunter changed into a party dress (plus her custom Golden Gooses – which each of the BABS got in Charleston for their wedding days!) and barely left the dance floor!!! The band SPIKED ft. DJ Elixir was INSANEEEEE- they had the BEST ENERGY I’ve ever seen!!! They didn’t take a single band break, and kept the party going all night long!!!
As a nod to Connor’s Italian background, they had a cake artist come and build a cannoli cake throughout the evening & then served to guests! Brittany Rawls live-painted their first dance (she’s sooooo talented), and Hunter had party props passed out, and late night burgers!!! It was SUCH A PARTY for our party queeeeeen! My favorite part of the night was when Hunter jumped on stage to dance and sing “Where is my Husband” – and she was KILLING IT….and all of a sudden, Connor comes into the tent & jumps on stage at the end of the song as she was singing “where is my husband?”! It was PERFECTION and soooo cute!!!!!
BEST NIGHT EVER – great day despite it being rainy from start to finish. What a perfect day of embracing your weather and enjoying it no matter what!
I can’t wait for ya’ll to see all my favorite photos below! ENJOY!!!!
