Olivia & Johnny = The Lewis Atkinson Home Wedding!

The Lewis Atkinson Home  |  Wedding Day  |  Olivia & Johnny  |  October 28, 2023

What a special wedding this was! Not only was this the second wedding EVER at The Lewis Atkinson Home, but it’s also Olivia’s family’s venue! How special to have a wedding at your family’s brand-new wedding venue!! Olivia wanted her wedding design plans to be a surprise, so she handed the reigns over to her incredible sister, Brooke. What a great idea – because her family pulled off the most beautiful wedding for Olivia & Johnny!!!

They had the most perfect October NC day for an outdoor wedding weekend. It was warm, sunny the whole time, and no harsh wind gusts. Literally my ideal weather to shoot in!!! I was just soooo happy! When we arrived, it was like MAGIC had happened overnight – because the front of the venue was completely transformed with the most colorful & happy colored florals! (Thanks to Brooke, who owns Brooke’s Fresh Cut Flower Farm!) it was just INCREDIBLE!!! (Olivia’s trail name is “Rainbow” so I loved how colorful all the florals were to reflect that part of Olivia’s life!)

The girls were enjoying getting ready, snacking, and hanging out in their robes! We photographed details while they got glammed, and Brooke spoiled me with a TON of stunning flowers to play with! Wow! We photographed some cute robe photos, and then Olivia got ready. Her dress is actually a family heirloom! Many women (including Olivia’s mom, Joann!) wore this wedding dress, and it was hand-sewn during a sewing circle six decades ago. Olivia customized it a little to fit her style – and I thought it was just the sweetest idea to honor the women in her family by wearing it!

The whole day Olivia & Johnny were both so laid-back, and just enjoyed all the moments. I really loved how “present” they were, and not rushing from thing to thing. They were so sweet to us, thanking US, and were truly a DREAM COUPLE to photograph! What an honor!!! 🙂

Olivia had a sweet First Look with her dad, and even had a First Touch with Johnny! Before we knew it, the ceremony was happening next – the morning had flown by! The backdrop of the front of the house is just the most southern, ideal spot to get married. I just love it. The magnolias framing the house provide a great block from the sun so guests don’t get too hot! It’s just so beautiful.

After the ceremony, we took some BEYOND GORGEOUS Bride & Groom photos that I’m absolutely freaking-out excited about! I had a vision for the front of the house to be used, and everyone was SO KIND to help move all those chairs. We were running out of sunlight and had to move fast – but everyone was soooo helpful and made my vision happen!!! I loved it!!!  🙂

The reception kicked off with First Dances (including a surprise “family dance” with including the whole fam!) lots of delicious food, the most beautiful cake display ever, a jump house (adorned with a balloon arch AND flowers!!!) string lights, dancing WITH bubble machines (okay I loved this idea, can more weddings add these?!?!) sweet toasts, and just a perfect night in total!

Olivia & Johnny wrapped up their big day with a sparkler exit out to their family’s red El Dorado Cadillac convertible getaway car! It was the coolest exit – how FUN!!! Loved it so much.

What an honor it was to capture Johnny & Olivia’s PERFECT wedding day! These two are sooooo happy together & it reflected throughout the day. I have a ton of favorite photos to share with ya’ll below, so I hope you ENJOY!!!
