3rd Anniversary Session | Angela & Cameron | May 25, 2020
I love to shoot “just for me” about once a year…. where I can plan the location, color scheme, outfits, etc. It feels so good to be creative just for the sake of “creating”, rather than the pressure of capturing someone else’s dream session! 🙂
This year, we doubled my “creative session” also as an Anniversary Session for my sister Angela and her husband, Cameron! (Check out Angela’s EPIC mountaintop Bridal Session HERE, their boho wedding day where I bawled like a baby HERE, and their mini Engagement Session literally the DAY AFTER they got engaged HERE!)
I spent HOURS researching locations all across NC, Virginia, and Tennessee. Of course, then COVID hit… and changed ALL our plans. No more traveling overnight and staying in Airbnb’s – so we spent more hours researching a new location that would be DIFFERENT and still include my favorite things – pretty light, spanish moss, unique backdrops, and open space!!! 🙂
We finally found the perfect spot, and made plans! With lots of improvising, Angela ended up doing her own hair and make up (you go girl!) we made her anniversary bouquet ourselves (thanks to COVID *again* we had to search 6 stores for decent flowers, and foraged ALL the greenery from my yard!) and thankfully my mom is super talented and altered Angela’s dress herself for us!!!
My sister Kristy came along to help us carry everything and hang out, and we all hopped in the car for a roadtrip! After many, many roadblocks once we arrived… we had to hike 6+ miles (in FULL hair/makeup, carrying gear/bouquet/clothes/accessories etc!) to finally find this epic location, and were only left with THIRTY MINUTES to frantically shoot the entire session, and RUSH 2 miles back to the car and leave!!! (I even tried bribing someone with cash to break the rules and drive us down there, but it didn’t work HAHA)
Would you ever guess that we took 700+ photos in 30 minutes? I narrowed it down to 325 amazingly gorgeous photos, and I’m SO PROUD of us all for making this session happen in the midst of a frustrating, sweaty, confusing afternoon!
I know I’m biased, but my sister is just SO stunning and models like a pro, and Cameron was such a good sport going along with everything and keeping her laughing in the midst of a crazy evening!
I hope you guys will love seeing my favorite images from their Anniversary Session below! Enjoy!!!!
