Wilson Country Club | Wedding Day | Shannon & Daniel | April 17, 2021
We first met Shannon at her friend Becca’s wedding day, and I’ll never forget how FUN she was, even pulling me onto the dance floor during the reception! (If you missed Becca’s Wrightsville Manor wedding, click HERE!) Then, we had the honor of photographing Shannon’s sister Miranda’s wedding 8 months ago (she was Maid of Honor, click HERE!) so it was FINALLY Shannon’s turn to be the bride on Saturday marrying Daniel!!! Yay!!! 🙂

After 7 years of dating, and multiple planning challenges thanks to COVID, Daniel & Shannon’s wedding day couldn’t have been any more perfect!!! From their sweet families & fun bridal parties, to the April greens and azaleas blooming, the mild temperatures, the design choices, and their outfits – it was an amazing day. 🙂
We started off the day with the girls who were all ready EARLY (yayyy for that!) and they enjoyed snacks, hanging out, and lounging in their cute pjs! Shannon opened a sweet gift from Daniel – a custom watercolor portrait. After getting dressed with 3 generations of ladies in her family PLUS including her new mother-in-law (so precious!) Shannon had a First Look with her bridesmaids and with her daddy. What a sweet morning!
Daniel and the guys were so easy going, and Phillip had a fun time with them at Daniel’s grandparents home! They had a beautiful pond backdrop for photos, and Shannon surprised Daniel with monogrammed cufflinks to wear during his photos.
The ceremony couldn’t have been any more beautiful. We had soft, overcast skies for their ceremony, and Daniel’s reaction to seeing Shannon walk down the aisle was exactly what EVERY girl hopes for. It was so sweet!!! During the ceremony rain started sprinkling a little, but it was just a little scare because it never rained AND the sunshine even popped out halfway through Shannon & Daniel’s Bride & Groom portraits – for the BEST mix of light we could ask for!!!! 🙂
Daniel & Shannon’s portraits are some of my favorites I’ve ever taken, not only because of the green backgrounds and their style – but because they wanted to take things slow, soak it all in, and were in no hurry to head to the reception! Even Daniel said we could use up our extra time being ahead of schedule to take MORE portraits, and my heart could have burst!!! It was so awesome!
Their reception kicked off with a bang, with delicious cake, food, drinks, custom cookies as favors and SO. MUCH. DANCING! Everyone had a blast on the dance floor, and it was really fun to capture.
Shannon and Daniel ended the night by running through a tunnel of sparklers to their Jeep with the doors off! It was so fun, because we love our Jeep with the doors off too!!!
We’re sad there aren’t any more Johnson sisters weddings to plan and photograph, because Miranda and Shannon are SO sweet and make our jobs easy!!! (And their parents are the best!!!!)
I hope ya’ll love seeing TONS of my favorites from Shannon & Daniel’s beautiful day below. ENJOY!!!! 🙂
