Rachel & TJ = Rose Hill Estate Wedding Day!

Rose Hill Estate Wedding Day   |   Rachel & TJ   |   October 16, 2021

Rachel is someone who literally RADIATES happiness when you’re around her. She’s someone who’ll DM me encouragement on social media, read everyone else’s blogs I write, and is just so genuinely kind. I can’t tell you how many times someone said on her wedding day that Rachel’s smile “lights up a room”!  TJ is her perfect compliment. He adores Rachel, and balances her personality perfectly. Opposites attract, and their relationship is a beautiful example of that. How TJ supported Rachel on their wedding day through all the adversity with the weather and decisions was a great example of how amazing they are together!!! 🙂

Their Engagement Session was one of our favorites. TJ’s family couldn’t believe how truly HAPPY TJ was in those photos, and although they were sweet to credit Phillip and I – it’s just a genuine display of how happy Rachel makes TJ! If you missed seeing their session, CLICK HERE!

Then, Rachel’s Bridal Session was just incredible. She’s a natural model, and even though it was one of the HOTTEST days, her session was just beyond amazing!!! If you missed seeing all her beautiful portraits, CLICK HERE!!!

Needless to say, we were pumped for their wedding day. We started off photographing all of Rachel’s thought-out, delicate details. It was extra special because Rachel gave me the honor of designing her letterpress invitation suite & I finally got to see it in person all together.

The girls were all having fun getting glammed upstairs, and one of my favorite moments was seeing TJ’s sweet mom Debbie read a card from TJ and burst into tears over how precious TJ was expressing himself in the note. TJ’s sisters were hugging his mom, and it was just the sweetest moment!!! 🙂

Rachel not only chose to have a First Look with her dad, but also with her 2 older brothers. Oh my gosh it was the SWEETEST! They love their little sister and were tearing up seeing her. They asked, “Can we touch you?” and gave her a big hug. It was so cute!!!!

TJ & Rachel’s wedding day started off sunny, then partly cloudy, then dark/windy, and then RAIN unfortunately. (But hey, rain is good luck!!) Rachel had always dreamed of an outdoor ceremony, and wanted to wait out the weather. Per usual, NC weather was super unpredictable, so after waiting and waiting for it to clear out – we were literally running out of light FAST. I was so proud of TJ and Rachel trusting us and deciding last minute do a First Look on the porch as it was raining all around us – and it was such a sweet moment to see TJ hug Rachel, calm her down, and them even laugh over everything together. 🙂

We photographed some bride & groom portraits after their First Look, and then the ceremony started! Rachel & TJ’s guests were INCREDIBLE to support their decisions, be so cheerful, willing to wait it out (even getting rained on sometimes) and be so upbeat so that Rachel could have her dream!!!

The reception started, and they treated their guests to an amazing buffet, open bar, signature drinks, a whole dessert table, and dancing! But my FAVORITE part of the whole day were the toasts. Both of their dads toasted, TJ’s sisters toasted, and Rachel’s brothers toasted. It was some of the most meaningful toasts I’ve ever heard. There weren’t many dry eyes in the whole reception. The love their families share, the incredible examples of marriages from their parents & grandparents, it was truly amazing to hear stories of their love and care for each other. One of Rachel’s brothers even came up to us during the reception and thanked US for taking good care of his sister during the photography process – it was the sweetest thing!!!!

I love how towards the end of the night, their guests rallied around TJ & Rachel, pulled them onto the dance floor, and sang their hearts out to finish out the night on such a fun, happy note! Their guests were truly THE BEST people!!! 🙂

Rachel and TJ went through a tunnel of sparklers to their black getaway car, and it was a beautiful ending to their wedding day!

I can’t wait for ya’ll to see my favorite photos below and let them speak for themselves! I hope you all ENJOY!!!!
