Megan & Derek = Raleigh Engagement Session

Downtown Raleigh Engagement Session  |  Megan & Derek  |  August 25, 2021

We love photographing our couples in places that are significant to them, so there’s more meaning beyond just a cool location. Megan & Derek chose Raleigh since they live downtown & have spent their relationship there as transplants to NC. In fact, they’ll be getting married next year at Melrose Knitting Mill, which is also downtown Raleigh! So cool! 🙂

Phillip and I haven’t photographed a session downtown Raleigh in like FIVE YEARS! So we were excited to have a unique backdrop, and find new places in a more urban setting! Phillip was MOST excited that Megan & Derek were including their 1.5 year-old doodle, Arya. She was absolutely PRECIOUS, and even though she’s still super young, Arya posed so well and looked at the camera!!!!  Their friend Brittany was a huge help to bring Arya and be the dog whisperer, and then take Arya back home afterwards for us!!! Thank you again Brittany!!!

We had a warm & overcast summer day, and tried to chase the light all over downtown before it got too dark. Megan and Derek were great sports to sweat it out with us, and were up for all of our ideas – INCLUDING crawling into the backseat of my little 2-door Elantra car to ride to all the locations since we were trying to save time as the sun set. I’m sure we looked like a clown car with all of us adults piling out of my little car HAHA!

Megan & Derek are so easy to be around, and made our job FUN. We had the best time with them, and I can’t WAIT for ya’ll to see some of my favorite photos from their downtown Engagement Session below!!! ENJOY!!!!
