Grayson & James = Family Farm Wedding Day!

Grayson & James  |  Bluegrass Barn Wedding Day  |  Wilson, NC  |  April 6, 2024

Oh my gosh ya’ll, what an INCREDIBLE wedding day this was! It was EXTRA special for us, because 10.5 years ago Phillip and I got married (in the first wedding ever) at the Bluegrass Barn! The Vick family was so kind and generous to entrust our families to have a wedding at their property – AND EVEN installed an elevator in time for our wedding, so that my handicapped Grandmother could go upstairs for our ceremony. Now, a full circle moment – photographing their granddaughter’s wedding at the beautiful barn! How special!!!

We were blessed with a sunny day and zero chance of rain! It was a windy one that caused us all to be a little extra patient to put up with the wind gusts – but other than that, it was an absolutely PERFECT day! Grayson and James are both so laid back and easy to work for, the timeline all went according to schedule, the bridal parties were so kind and cooperative, and it was just such a happy day! 🙂

The girls enjoyed getting glammed upstairs in the barn, while the guys hung out at the house! It was so fun to photograph all of their beautiful details (& spoiled with pretty florals by Jeffrey Surles Designs!) Grayson kept her wedding dress a complete secret (even from her sister!) so it was fun having a First Look with the bridesmaids, her dad, and then an emotional First Touch with James. So sweet! We photographed so many pretty portraits outside before the ceremony, and thankfully the ladies all had furs to wear to keep them warm (or at least, warmer, haha!)

The ceremony was absolutely STUNNING with the arbor covered in flowers!!! Grayson walked down her long aisle towards James as he teared up seeing his beautiful bride! One thing that I especially loved was the custom 2-layer veil, that Grayson wore OVER her face until her dad gave her away. It was so stunning!

After the ceremony, we took soooo many pretty portraits – chasing the sun as it was setting. Those sun flares are all REAL! It was soooo beautiful. The lighting, their posing, their willingness to trust us – it was a combination for MAGIC!!!!!

The reception kicked off with digging up their Bourbon – and The Voltage Brothers band from Atlanta playing their First Dances as they swayed under the INSANELY GORGEOUS dance floor floral installation – wow!!!! There were so many food stations & dessert stations for their guests to enjoy.

We were blown away by the tent design! They truly brought the outdoors INDOORS, with beautiful landscaping by Barnes Landscaping and florals by Jeffrey. The lounge sets and bar made such a statement too, for guests who wanted to chat and relax on one side of the tent. It was seriously jaw-dropping to experience that tent in person!

The party kicked off with glow sticks on the dance floor, a champagne tower, speeches, and then finally a sparkler exit out to Grayson’s bronco! It was such a happy day and just flew by!!!

It was an honor to photograph this precious couple’s wedding day. I have SO MANY favorites to share with ya’ll, and can’t wait for you to see a small glimpse of it below! ENJOY!
