The Barn at Broadslab | Wedding Day | Hannah & Matt | April 30, 2022
Hannah & Matt’s beautiful wedding day was so perfectly “them” – with so much thought put into every single detail. Matt owns a longleaf pine tree farm (North Carolina’s state tree!) and he really views it as a way to give back to the world and a legacy that he’s leaving behind for generations. Since it’s such a big part of their lives, several aspects of their wedding day were a nod to the longleaf. 🙂
Matt also owns a farm with COWS! If you missed seeing their beautiful Engagement Session on his family property, click HERE to view their blog! Also, if you missed Hannah’s stunning Mims House Bridal Session sneak peek on our blog, click HERE!
We started off the day photographing their details! Not only did their invitations have minimalistic gold trees on them, but their vintage stamps were also chosen specifically to tie back to longleaf – with a bobwhite quail (longleaf is a habitat for them) and pine trees featured on the stamps. Even Matt’s Brackish bowtie was created using quail feathers. The “guestbook” was actually a framed drawing of a tree, where each guest wrote their names on the branches. Their unity ceremony was also a planting of a longleaf pine tree, using dirt to “plant” it together. Matt even wrote that portion of the ceremony himself, and it was so meaningful. 🙂
Next we got to hang out with their sweet bridal party as everyone was getting ready. Hannah’s bridesmaids were the NICEST, and her Maid of Honor, Taylor, was the biggest help and needs to assist me at ALL our weddings! Taylor took it upon herself to make sure that Hannah had an AMAZING wedding day, and it was so selfless and thoughtful of her!!! Honestly Matt’s niece, Clara (in role of flowergirl) stole the show all day – and took her job so seriously! (Just wait until you see what cute thing she did at the reception!)
As I edited Matt and Hannah’s wedding photos all week, a few things jumped out to me:
– Hannah’s precious mom, Tammy, literally BEAMING WITH PRIDE from the sidelines as she watched her little girl get married. It’s as if the joy from her heart was literally radiating around her on Saturday. So special to see!
– Hannah’s brother AND Matt’s dad’s reaction as Hannah walked down the aisle. So so precious, because you typically don’t expect other family members to have a big reaction!
The ceremony was really meaningful, especially with Matt’s unity ceremony. We photographed all the post-ceremony photos next, and JUST as we were starting Bride & Groom portraits, RAIN started sprinkling!!! Thankfully, it was never a downpour, and Hannah & Matt were good sports to trust us and embrace the sprinkles!! If you zoom in close, you can see them! It almost looks like sparkles 🙂
The reception was full of delicious food (I LOVED the mac-n-cheese especially), a whole table of cupcakes and cake, and LOTS of Justin Beiber songs! In fact, I edited to hours worth of the Beibs in honor of Hannah this week, hahaha!!!!
Anyways, enough of me chatting! I have a TON of favorite photos for you to scroll through below! I hope you LOVE seeing them! 🙂
