Caroline & Sean = Walnut Hill Wedding Day!

Walnut Hill Wedding Day  |  Caroline & Sean  |  March 23, 2024

After Sean & Caroline’s fun Engagement Session last year (if you missed it, click HERE for the blog!) we were SO excited to photograph them again for their wedding day! I was watching the weather all week long, and sadly Saturday was forecasting a 90% chance of rain all day. NC was due for some rain to wash away all our pollen, but ideally not a washout on their wedding day! The night before the decision was made to move to their “Plan B” – a covered ceremony. It was raining when we woke up Saturday morning, and sprinkled on the way to Walnut Hill. But once we arrived… not a SINGLE DROP of rain happened all day!!! We even had sunshine for parts of the day peeking out from behind the clouds! It was amazing. So many prayers were answered! Their incredible planner, Trent, made a new decision to move back to Plan A, for an outdoor ceremony. YAY!

We started off our wedding day with the girls, photographing them getting glam, and styling Caroline’s beautiful details! I LOVED their invitation suite especially with all the unique pieces. Also, can we talk about those Jimmy Choos?! Obsessed. I loved meeting Caroline’s sweet bridesmaids and they were so helpful and were amazing hype girls for Caroline too! 🙂

Caroline & Sean had a First Look, and then my favorite part – private vows. They read vows to each other, and had a few minutes to just be together and focus on each other! It was so special & I’m so glad they chose to do that. Caroline was smart to keep her makeup artist later into the day, and she did touchups after Caroline cried during her vows. We photographed their Bride & Groom portraits next, and they are such a photogenic couple!! It was superrrr windy, but Sean & Caroline were both so patient to wait it out between poses & we got SO many insanely good portraits of them!

The ceremony was just sooo beautiful at the Lakeside Gardens. The floral grounders were such a unique touch and I really loved them! Even more special was the fact that Caroline’s grandfather, Larry, was the officiant for their ceremony! He did such a good job & made it extra special performing it for them.

Since we’d taken so many photos pre-ceremony, Caroline & Sean were able to join part of their own cocktail hour! I love when our couples can do that, to spend extra time with their guests. Deans Duets performed during cocktail hour, and Rocky Top Catering passed around pretty hors d’oeuvres.

The reception kicked off with Entrances (with Caroline & Sean doing their secret handshake!) First Dances, a delicious dinner, and then the band Dance Candy took it away! Caroline & Sean treated their guests to not only a yummy cake, open bar with specialty drinks, but ALSO Two Roosters Ice Cream truck came and guests could get unlimited ice cream! I got a chocolate Oreo cookie dough flavor and it was SO GOOD!!!

The evening wrapped up with a last dance surrounded by their family & friends, and then a sparkler exit out to their getaway car! It was such a great way to end their happy day! I have sooooo many favorites to share with ya’ll below! I hope you enjoy!! 🙂
