The Oaks at Salem Wedding Day | Amy & Garrett | September 5, 2026
We’d been looking forward to Amy & Garrett’s day for the longest time! They are the sweetest couple, plus so photogenic… and with Amy’s eye for design – we knew this day would be so amazing!
We arrived and Amy’s bridesmaids were sooooo welcoming and sweet! I’ve never had a big group of girls that fun, sweet, and selfless before! LOVED THEM ALL!!!! :) We got to work photographing Amy’s details – and wow it was SUCH a fun time styling! She spoiled me with so many pretty pieces (Amy designed the matchbooks herself!!) all of the ducks in the flatlay designs were a nod to Garrett, and the earrings were the ones Amy’s mom wore on HER wedding day!
All morning there was a hum of activity – especially knowing there was a chance of rain. Amy made the call to take bridesmaids photos outside quickly, trying to do them before the rain! The wind was picking up significantly, and Phillip was giving us a countdown of when the rain was due to start – 12 minutes, 6 minutes, 4 minutes…. So we RUSHED through photos, with everyone cooperating beautifully, and the second we rushed Amy inside to safety, the skies opened up and it rained for the next hour!!!
We waited out the rainstorm, so Garrett & Amy could have an outdoor ceremony – and it turned out to be perfect! The rain cooled off the temperatures a little, and the overcast skies were such a reprieve! Garrett’s reaction to seeing Any walk down the aisle was precious – he was in awe of his stunning bride!
After the ceremony, we rushed to take ALL photos within 35 minutes (instead of the 60 minutes we were allotted) so the wedding planner could start the reception sooner with the rain delay – and since their families & bridal party were so amazing – we made it happen all within 35 minutes and made MAGIC together!!!!
The reception kicked off with sweet dances (even a surprise dance for Amy’s mom as a thank you for all her hard work), a delicious dinner, a STUNNING design of florals and greenery everywhere, precious speeches (Amy’s brother’s speech had everyone in tears!), a dessert table full of yummy options, and then a fun dance party with late night snacks (fries, pretzel bites + toppings!)
They had a sparkler exit out to their getaway car and it was the perfect way to end such a special day! What an honor to capture Garrett & Amy’s beautiful wedding. They are the sweetest couple & it was just a dream of a day from start to finish! I can’t wait to share some of my current favorite photos from this sweet couple’s day! Enjoy!
