Shannon + Michael = Wedding Day!

I cannot brag on this Bridal Party enough. Hurricane Hermaine came through, throwing all Shannon’s well-planned ideas to the wind (literally!). Instead of a beautiful sound-side outdoor ceremony, patio cocktail hour, and outdoor family portraits… EVERYTHING was moved indoors. Even though their vision was changed, Shannon and Michael kept calm, shrugged it off, and decided to have a GREAT wedding day…and it WAS!!!

More about these people: a groomsman HUGGED me after bridal party portraits, THANKING us for photographing. Another groomsman gave us chocolate out of his own take-home gift, saying we deserved it! All the bridesmaids let me put them in 30mph winds for portraits, and NEVER complained to me. These people ROCKED!!!!

Shannon and Michael set out to be unique – and they did! Shannon’s artsy taste in her engagement ring, her dress style and beading, Michael’s bright bow-tie, and even their wedding cake choice (sweet potato cake!) were so different! We love when a couple has a wedding that defines THEM, not what everyone else is doing. Props to them!!!

The winds during the day were really INSANE. During Bride & Groom portraits, it died down slightly, but still windy enough to get the COOLEST veil portraits – thank you Hermaine! Then, not even 5 minutes after we wrapped with the portraits, rain and really dark clouds came – so it was PERFECT timing that we missed the nastiness!

We enjoyed hearing the speeches from friends and family, and seeing how loved Michael and Shannon are. When the dance floor opened, we got privileged to see a DANCE OFF between two guests and we laughed harder than we EVER have at a wedding!!! It was seriously awesome.

After a fun evening, Shannon and Michael went out through a tunnel of sparklers to their decorated car! We loved spending the day with these sweet people and their families – we hope you enjoy their sneak peek!!!
