Snowy Styled Session | Wilson NC | January 18th, 2018
To be honest, I don’t really love snow. So when our city was expecting our SECOND snow in just 10 days, I decided to plan a snowy session so I’d look forward to snow for once.
I went out that morning to buy all our supplies, and spent the day scouting locations, making the bouquet & dress, and then doing Kristy’s hair and makeup.
It was 4:00pm, and the snow was STILL NOT STICKING TO THE GROUND!!!!! The idea I had in my head was obviously snow covering the ground, but the ground just was too warm for the snow to stick.
I started panicking a little, because we had only 1.5 hours of light left in the day, and NO SNOW. Of course the ONE TIME that I actually WANTED the snow… it doesn’t happen.
All of a sudden around 4:30pm, the snow was sticking enough and coming down in the biggest, most beautiful snowflakes. So, we rushed to finish Kristy’s hair and makeup while my mom tied a satin bow for the bouquet, and we had about 30 minutes of light left when we finally got outside.
It was so cold, especially with the wind and the snowflakes landing on us. Kristy was such a good sport – she couldn’t even feel her fingers!!! The snowflakes were landing on her curls and looked so beautiful.
We shot SO FAST and used up EVERY LAST bit of light (pushing that ISO as high as it would go) and the session turned out MORE PERFECT than I’d even dreamed.
I finished that shoot on such a creative HIGH, it was so good for my soul to do a shoot that I had planned myself, and implanted. So fun!!!!
It’ll go down in history as one of my FAVORITE sessions ever. Thanks to Kristy for being so gorgeous and willing to freeze in the snow with me. Enjoy seeing my favorite photos!
PERFECTIONNNNN!!!
Thank youuuuuu!!!! 🙂
