Sarah has now become my most involved D-I-Y (do it yourself) bride to date. I’m amazed at how many aspects of her and Michael’s wedding day they did themselves. Her own veil, each centerpiece, bouquet, t-shirt, bridal party gift, signage, and even the ring box were made by Sarah. On top of all that, Sarah worked full-time AND was in school. I think I’d call her crazy for doing all that. 🙂
We were excited to shoot downtown Wilmington for a change of scenery. Unfortunately, the skies POURED on us on and off all day, so we couldn’t take full advantage of being outdoors! The humidity fogged my camera lens the SECOND I stepped outside, and it was a hot one. Sarah, Michael, and their bridal party didn’t complain once – so we shot through the light rain. We had about 7 minutes with Sarah & Michael before it POURED on us, and we literally rain back to the venue. Thankfully, we rescheduled part of the bride and groom shots for later in the evening when it stopped raining.
Sarah and Michael treated their guests to an awesome dinner, and a huge candy table as guest gifts. Throughout the day, I noticed how thoughtful they were towards guests, making sure they were taken care of. I LOVED how they even had Capri Sun listed on their bar menu, so even the youngest guests had a fun drink. Sarah surprised Phillip and I with gifts when we arrived – custom decals for our cars. It was so unexpected and we felt so included!
Sarah and Michael left through a tunnel of confetti (biodegradable, don’t worry) and it was SUCH a cool exit! They made their getaway in a British Taxi, and it was my FAVORITE getaway vehicle to date!
We hope you all enjoy this Sneak Peek into Sarah & Michael’s wedding day. Congratulations you two! 🙂
