Elm City, North Carolina | Wedding Day | Michelle & Robbie | May 27th, 2017
From the moment we met these two over coffee, we thought they were amazing! Robbie is incredibly sweet and kind, and has the biggest, most genuine smile. Michelle is beautiful, crafty (she DIY-ed a lot of her wedding!) fun, and super organized.
Michelle & Robbie really remind us of US – Phillip is the laid-back, easy going, patient, and supportive (just like Robbie) while I’m the on-task, focused, super-organized, structured one. We balance each other perfectly – just like Michelle and Robbie compliment each other’s personalities so wonderfully.
Robbie proposed in front of the Biltmore – (you can’t get much more romantic than that!) with a beautiful diamond ring, and they actually planned on getting married LAST YEAR. Unfortunately, a terrible car wreck threw their plans to the wind, and they had to cancel their wedding. We’re SO thankful they’re alive! After a year of recovery and re-planning a DIFFERENT wedding, they reached out to us to photograph their wedding, and we are so honored to be a part of this wedding that’s been a LONG TIME coming!!!!
We had a BEAUITFUL May day for a wedding! Phillip and I started with detail shots at their HOUSE (they’re renovating an OLD house, Fixer Upper style, and I’m obsessed with all the character!) and it was so special to shoot all the girls that morning at their own house.
Phillip hung out with the boys at the church – and they were GREAT sports for photographing in noon sun/heat in full suits!!! Robbie is so fun and easy-going – I love seeing his smile in his groom portraits!!!
After a sweet ceremony, Michelle and Robbie “swayed” down the aisle to the song “Going to the Chapel”. It was so cute, and everyone was laughing!
Michelle had decorated the ENTIRE GYM with so many hand-made details. From signage, to ribbon backdrops, games, a photobooth, and even a whole TABLE of bridal portraits (made me so happy!) she’d decorated every INCH of that place!!!!
The HIGHLIGHT of the reception was hands-down their cake cutting. BOTH Robbie and Michelle SMASHED their cake ALL OVER each other’s faces, on their clothes, even on Robbie’s shoes!!!!! They win the BEST cake smash we’ve ever witnessed! (and we’ve seen A LOT of them!)
They left through a tunnel of bubbles, and out to a decorated car! It was such a fun way to end the day!
Michelle & Robbie – THANK YOU for all your kindness to us. Always checking to make sure we weren’t hungry or thirsty, packing us dinner and dessert to bring home, and even the gift (which was SO THOUGHFUL!!!!!!) – your kindness was overwhelming to us! Thank you for thinking of US on your special day!!!! We hope you enjoy our favorite images from the wedding!
