The Rickhouse | Wedding Day | Durham, NC | Marie + Will | July 20, 2019
What a happy, fun, and joyful day Marie and Will had on Saturday!!! We arrived at Marie’s childhood home, and all the girls were getting ready with Wedded Kiss rocking out beautiful makeup and hairstyles! The mood was so lighthearted and happy, EVEN when the skies grew dark and rain was POURING outside! Marie had the best attitude – and didn’t worry for a second. How amazing is that?!
As I photographed the details, one of my favorite items was the watercolor crest they had made (by the talented Junco & Pine Arts) and it was displayed on their Save the Dates and on stickers for their awesome welcome boxes! Since most of their guests were coming from out of state (Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, and beyond!) the North Carolina (Marie’s home state) and Kentucky (Will’s home state) themed boxes were such a thoughtful touch by Mrs. Duncan!
Marie had a precious First Look with her dad, and it was special seeing his love for his daughter. Then he offered Marie his arm, and asked if they could “practice” walking down the aisle, it was so cute!!!
The guys were hanging out at Marie’s uncle’s house, and it was the perfect “man cave” for getting ready. The only female allowed was Ava, their precious golden retriever, and Phillip was IN HEAVEN photographing her! Thankfully, the rain stopped pouring just in time for the guys photos outside! What a blessing!
We all hopped on the party bus, and headed to Apex UMC for photos! The backdrop of the white church looked so beautiful with the ladies navy dresses. I LOVED the style of those dresses, they were so elegant and classic!
The ceremony was sweet with many teary eyes, and lots of applause as they exited husband and wife!
The Rickhouse reception kicked off with a bang – with Bowerbird doing an AMAZING hanging floral installation above the dancefloor, and a mixture of beautiful floral arrangements at each table. I loved the linens they chose, and even the shape of their plates was gorgeous!!! The amount of thought Marie and Will put into the design (with the help of Megan at Magnolia Grove Weddings) was so detail oriented and I LOVED it!
Phillip’s favorite part of the reception was Will doing the cake smash IN MARIE’S FACE…. Since Phillip did the same thing to me on our wedding day, haha. Marie was a good sport as she wiped frosting out of her lashes, haha!
They ended the fun night with a final dance, and went through a tunnel of bubbles!!! After dating long distance from Texas to Georgia the last few years, Will and Marie are married and starting their lives together in the same state! We are so happy for you both, Mr. & Mrs. Duncan!
We hope you enjoy seeing our favorite photos from Will and Marie’s GORGEOUS wedding day below!
