Raleigh, NC Wedding | Marian + Taylor | North Hills Club | August 11th, 2019
After just a 4-month whirlwind engagement, Marian and Taylor are MARRIED!!! Since Phillip and I only had a 5-month engagement, we know exactly how exciting (and sometimes overwhelming!) planning a wedding in a short amount of time is! We had several of their family members remind us on their wedding day that the reason Marian and Taylor chose August 11th was because that’s the only date we had left available to photograph!!!! How AMAZING is that?!?!?! So humbled and honored.
Taylor and Marian are INCREDIBLE people. From the moment we arrived, Marian was telling us to help ourselves to food throughout the day, and making sure that WE had everything we needed. They gave us a gift and a thank you note too! Then, throughout the reception, both Taylor and Marian came up to us to see if we were doing okay, and thanking us. The next morning at 7:30am Marian texted us ANOTHER thank you. They are literally two of the most SELFLESS, thoughtful, and kind people we’ve ever met. Wow!
Marian spoiled us with the most meaningful details to photograph. Their invitation suite had a custom monogram with their initials and date entwined, the diamond necklace was Marian’s gramdmomma’s and her aunts/mom have passed it around for special occasions. The pearl bracelet is “something borrowed” from her mom, the penny (with her birth year) in her shoe is in honor of her granddaddy who collected pennies, the veil is also “something borrowed” from her friend (and our former bride, Katie!) the lace garter was made by Marian’s mom from the veil her grandmomma made FROM her great-grandmother’s wedding dress! Marian kept the tradition of her grandmomma, mom, and aunts have wearing the veil by incorporating into her garter. How special!
Marian’s bridesmaids were the sweetest from the get-go! They were helpful, hilarious, and braved the North Carolina summer heat with us with SMILES! Phillip had a great time with the groomsmen, and enjoying hanging out with those guys!
One of my favorite moments of the day was seeing Taylor tear up as Marian walked down the aisle to him. OMG seriously every bride hopes her future husband will show emotion like that. SOOOOOOO precious!!!! After a very personable ceremony with some great advice and laughs sprinkled in, we started photos!
As we began Bride and Groom portraits, it began raining. Marian and Taylor didn’t even FLINCH, and just went along with posing and trusting us even through the rain. Taylor and Marian were full of smiles and JOY no matter what! They were awesome to be great sports, and we were able to get ALL our portraits done without a downpour. So thankful!!!
The reception kicked off with a BANG with the amazing Liquid Pleasure band! Can they be at EVERY wedding we shoot?!?! The evening was so much fun with food being brought out throughout the whole reception, so much dancing, and one of their guests even freestyle-rapped with the band! The whole night was amazing.
Taylor and Marian ended the night through a tunnel of sparklers and hopped in their vintage truck after saying their goodbyes! It was a perfect ending to the most wonderful day!!!
Marian and Taylor… you guys are INCREDIBLE. We are seriously so thankful to have been a part of your wedding story, and we hope you’ll love all these images! Enjoy!!!
