Tarboro Wedding Day | Lizzie + Payton | February 29th, 2020
After dating for TWELVE years, Lizzie and Payton got married on their 12th dating anniversary – LEAP DAY! It was such a day of excitement and joy, as their friends and families helped them celebrate so many wonderful years together!!! 🙂
We started off their day at their NEW house in Tarboro! I was absolutely blown away with how gorgeous their home is – with so much historic details and character! I told Lizzie how hard it was for me not to be JEALOUS the whole time I was photographing that morning!!! It was the absolute PERFECT place for the girls to get ready, and for me to photograph all the details.
Lizzie + Payton’s style was very vintage – and they incorporated a lot of unique touches, family heirlooms, and sentimental pieces. Lizzie even bought her dress YEARS ago before a bridal boutique she used to work at in Boone closed – and it goes down as one of my FAVORITE WEDDING DRESSES EVER! The color and the details on the dress were so unlike any other, it was so perfectly “Lizzie”!
We’d photographed their Engagement Session (click HERE if you missed it!) in the deep of NC summertime midday – and their wedding day was the opposite. COLD, but also the WINDIEST wedding we’ve ever photographed! Out on the farm, with not much to block the wind, Lizzie + Payton’s bridal party were amazing sports to brave the brutal wind and the cold with SMILES on their faces!!
Their ceremony happened in the front of Payton’s parent’s home, and I loved the magnolia leaf greenery arch they had above the front door! Wooden pews lined the aisles, and they had a sweet ceremony performed by a friend. Lizzie is so easy-going that she even took off her veil mid-ceremony because the wind was so ferocious!
After the ceremony, Lizzie showed me the CUTEST certificates of adoption for their dogs, Wolf and Abby so that Payton could officially adopt them. I LOVED that!!! So sweet. We warmed up for a few minutes inside before photographing their bride & groom portraits!
The reception kicked off with a bang (thanks to Impultz DJ – Brad Perkins!) and the inside of the tent was so magical. Hanging greenery & black chandeliers, “trees” attached to the tent poles – mix-matched wooden tables and chairs, with unique vintage centerpieces each one different than the next!!!
After a wonderful dinner, a beautiful cake, a photobooth, a guest book “album” signing, coffee bar, drinks, a dress change for Lizzie, and lotsssss of fun dancing… Lizzie and Payton exited through a tunnel of sparklers! It was such a sweet day, full of love, happy tears, and a wedding day that had been in the works since they were barely teenagers. What an honor to capture their love!
We hope you’ll LOVE seeing 250+ of my FAVORITE photos from their wedding day! Congratulations to Lizzie, Payton, Wolf, and Abby!!!! We love ya’ll!!!!
