Bluegrass Barn, Wilson NC | Wedding Day | April 30th, 2016
Leigh and Ben had a BRILLIANT idea. They invited only their closest family members to the wedding, followed by a HUGE party reception full of all their friends and family! It made for a really special, intimate ceremony where the focus was on their love, and not all the theatrics that ceremonies can turn into. Leigh and Ben even wrote their own ceremony, and vows.
I loved how easy-going the morning was. Leigh commented how nice it was not to feel stressed on her wedding day, as she leisurely got her makeup and hair done. Since neither Leigh nor Ben had large bridal parties, we took our time and slowed down the process.
During detail shots, it started lightly raining outside. We were a little nervous since an outdoor ceremony was planned, but the gray skies thankfully were just teasing and not a drop of rain fell out of the sky for the ceremony or portraits!
After the ceremony, we headed to the Bluegrass Barn for the reception. (Sound familiar? That’s where Phillip and I got married!) I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY at how Leigh and her planner, Robin Williams had transformed a tent and the downstairs of the barn into a gorgeous, softly colored venue. There were fresh flowers everywhere, and tons of décor.
Leigh & Ben’s guests were spoiled with passed heavy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and hot food dinner stations around the tent. Dancing commenced for the entire night, and others headed to the photo booth – what a great crowd!
After a fun evening and lots of laughter, Leigh and Ben ran out to their LIMO in a tunnel of the BEST bubbles we’ve had to date! We hope they have a wonderful time honeymooning and hope YOU enjoy this sneak peek into their sweet day!
