The Powerhouse Wedding Day | Krystal & Jeremy | September 19, 2020
Krystal and Jeremy are the BEST examples of taking lemons and making lemonade. After THREE attempts at planning a honeymoon, countless changes made to their original wedding plans, their wedding reception being cancelled, and I’m sure a lot of heartache because of COVID… Krystal and Jeremy’s day ended up being so unique and SO much fun!!! 🙂
Side note! If you missed seeing their super fun (and Patriot themed) Engagement Session, click HERE – and if you missed Krystal’s Bridal Session also at the Powerhouse, click HERE to see!!!!
The girls started the weekend by staying overnight in the Rocky Mount Mills tiny homes, River and Twine. Then they started the wedding day getting all glammed up by an amazing team led by Ginger Proctor (Amici & Co.) and Allison Dean. All the bridesmaids wore cute little sage green PJs and looked super comfy.
Krystal and Jeremy chose to have a First Look, and it was SUCH a special moment. They both had a huge sigh of relief after seeing each other, and felt so much better after seeing one another. Jeremy was so sweet, and said his day had felt so weird all morning without Krystal, because they do EVERYTHING together – and here they weren’t even together on their happiest day! It was precious.
Phillip and I loved all the ways they included their Aussie pups, Ada and Maddox. Not only were they flower girl and ringbearer, but they also were featured as “cake toppers”! Since Krystal and Jeremy couldn’t have a reception (or a cake!) anymore, we still took some detail photographs of their cake toppers anyways. Sooooo cute!!!
The ceremony was in the “Overlook”, and it was so pretty with lights draping across the ceiling, and Perfect Palette Floral designed a beautiful asymmetric ceremony backdrop, and lined the aisle with fresh rose petals. It was beautiful!!!
After the ceremony, they would have gone to a huge reception. But because of COVID cancelling those plans – Krystal and Jeremy had the coolest plan: they went outside on the lawn and had First Dances with their friends and family surrounding them – just casually with Bose speakers playing their music. Their dads and Krystal’s twin sister said little speeches – and then guests could walk around the Mills and get drinks / food all treated by Krystal and Jeremy. It was such a neat idea, and so thoughtful to still treat their guests to a fun evening out.
At the end of the evening, Krystal and Jeremy got pizza and wings from The Tipsy Tomato, and finally got to sit down together to enjoy dinner! (They even treated Phillip and I to pizza – SO SWEET!!!! And it was delicious!) It was so laid-back and fun, that I hope someday other couples will do this same idea!!!
I hope you’ll love seeing some of my FAVORITE photos from Jeremy & Krystal’s wedding day below! Enjoy!!!
