The Highgrove Estate Wedding Day | Kelsey & Corey | June 24, 2023
Kelsey & Corey’s wedding was a perfect example of not letting what the weather throws at you ruin your day! From start to finish, Kelsey & Corey embraced the day with SMILES on their faces, went with the flow, and had a GREAT TIME regardless of what curveballs the weather gave them! 🙂
We started the day photographing Kelsey’s beautiful details & taking fun photos with all of Kelsey’s fun bridesmaids! Kelsey’s getting-ready look was SO GOOD, it was so different and I loved it soooooo much! I also loved meeting Kelsey’s mom Shawnna, she was just the sweetest & gave us big hugs immediately!
When the guys arrived at the Highgrove, it was AWESOME. They did “walk up photos” – like a NFL pre-game TV coverage of when the athletes arrive in all their boujee outfits. It’s such a fun way to start the wedding day, and Phillip had a great time with them! Even the bus driver participated and gave them all a handshake as they walked in – it was so fun! 🙂
Kelsey & Corey decided to do a First Look, and read their handwritten vows to each other. That was my favorite part – it was so special to witness them promise forever to each other, and see how far they’ve come. We took Bride & Groom portraits right after – and they were such great sports in the HEAT, the awful gnats, Kelsey’s feet hurting so bad in heels, and then even a little sprinkle of rain at the end of our photos!!
Thankfully, we photographed ALL bridal party photos pre-ceremony too – which turned out wonderfully because out of NOWHERE a huge downpour of rain started just as the ceremony was supposed to get started. They opted to wait about 20 minutes, but when the rain wasn’t letting up, Kelsey & Corey decided to just go with it – and their ceremony was in the RAIN (literally a downpour) yet they embraced it! After the ceremony, the rain slowed, and they even had a RAINBOW literally right above the pergola. How special!!!
The rain kept starting and stopping, but Kelsey and Corey just went with the flow, and ran out to take more photos whenever we could. Their guests were treated to drinks, yummy appetizers, and even fancy slices of PIZZA during the cocktail hour!!!
The reception kicked off with a beautiful choreographed First Dance, sweet toasts, delicious food, more pretty drinks, cake, and even a Krispy Kreme flambe bar for a late night snack! All Events DJ (Jonah) kept the dance floor packed all night long, and everyone was having the BEST TIME together!!!
The evening flew by, and before we knew it, it was time for Kelsey & Corey’s private last dance!! They exited through a tunnel of sparklers, with all their friends and family cheering them on! It was such a great day, despite all the crazy rain!!
We are SO proud of how you both handled the unexpected weather, and trusted us through it all, Corey and Kelsey! We are so happy for you both, and can’t wait to share all my favorite photos with ya’ll below! ENJOY!!!
