The Barn at Broadslab | Wedding Day | Kayla & Wyatt | June 26, 2021
When we met for the first time, Kayla told us she’d been dreaming & planning her wedding day since she was 16! (Yes, that’s BEFORE Wyatt even was in the picture haha!) After all these years, Kayla’s big day was finally here – and it couldn’t have been any more beautiful!
The girls started off the day getting glammed up with Jade Marion Hair & Michelle Clark Makeup, eating snacks & relaxing in their robes! All the girls were fun & kind – in fact – Kayla’s MOH, Whitley, had been in TWO of our weddings before and was soooo sweet and helpful to us all day! 🙂
The day was a *little* nerve-wracking because the weather was forecasting rain. On and off all day it would DOWNPOUR, and then clear out completely. Then rain again, and clear out. Thankfully, we were able to do ALL their photos outside still – and the rain didn’t affect any of their plans! Such a blessing! (When I was photographing details, it was DOWNPOURING, but actually relaxing to hear the rain as I started the day!) Kayla did a great job trying to stay calm with the rain – and we are so thankful it all worked out!
Kayla had a sweet First Look with her dad outside. They both started tearing up, and Kayla said, “Don’t worry Daddy, you’re not going to lose me!” and her dad was SO precious to say with tears coming down his cheeks, “I’m not worried about losing you, I’m just thinking about what a BLESSING all of this is!” Oh my gosh – it was the sweetest thing.
Wyatt and Kayla had their ceremony at her church – and it was beautiful and very emotional. What a beautiful space for them to say their vows!
We headed back to the barn – and it was HOT, HUMID, and every single gnat in Johnston County came out to play. Wyatt and Kayla’s bridal party were SUCH GOOD SPORTS to deal with photos literally in a swarm of gnats – and then we did ALL of Kayla & Wyatt’s bride & groom photos in just TEN MINUTES because the gnats were so bad!!!!! (Yes, all week I’ve been editing tiny gnats off of their faces haha!)
The reception was beautiful – and kicked off with a bang when Kayla & her dad surprised everyone with a fun choreographed dance!! They spoiled their guests with yummy dinner, cake, cupcakes (Kayla chose FUNFETTI cupcakes, and I was in HEAVEN!!!!!), a photobooth, a candy bar with treats, and a fun night of dancing!!! Kayla couldn’t wait to get on the dance floor and it was so cute seeing her let loose and have a blast!
I can’t wait for ya’ll to see some of my FAVORITE photos from their beautiful day. Let me know which are some of your faves!!!! ENJOY!!!! 🙂
