Merrimon Wynne | Wedding Day | Kathleen + Will | November 28, 2020
Well… our 2020 wedding season just went out with a BANG!! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful November day, a more laid-back couple, and more stunning venue to finish out this crazy year on a high note! Kathleen & Will have gone through SO MUCH after postponing their original April wedding date (although they eloped on the California coast when they couldn’t have their wedding as planned back home, which is pretty epic!) and they totally deserved a PERFECT wedding day!
I could hardly believe that it was a YEAR AND A HALF since their fun sunrise Engagement Session on the beach with their pups (refresh your memory and click HERE to see their session!) and it’s been TWO AND A HALF years since Kathleen first emailed us!!!! Wow… it’s really been a long journey for them! They’ve even gone from living in Atlanta to California during that timeframe, job changes, a superbowl, and so much more.
NC decided to show off in all it’s fall glory for these now-Californians, and they brought the warm weather with them! The Merrimon Wynne House was the perfect backdrop to their modern yet classic style – and it looked beautiful. Kathleen and her girls hung out in the bridal suite getting glammed up by Jade and Ashley – and the boys hung out in the grooms suite playing cards and watching football.
Before their First Look, Will and Kathleen decided to read vows they’d written to each other. It was such a sweet, touching moment after all they’ve been through – supporting each other’s dreams and passions over the last 6+ years. We felt honored to listen to them share such a beautiful moment!
After a beautiful outdoor ceremony, all the guests went into the carriage house for the YUMMIEST plated dinner, drinks, music, toasts, and a champagne tower! My favorite part of the reception (that brought ME to tears), was a surprise Zoom toast by Will’s sister Elizabeth (who sadly last minute couldn’t come) who welcomed Kathleen to their “team” – it was so special and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
Phillip and I feel so honored to have been along for the last 2.5 years of Kathleen & Will’s engagement! In Kathleen’s very first email to me, she described their dream wedding day as: classic, FUN, dreamy… and I think they got JUST THAT and more!!!!
I hope you’ll love seeing my favorite photos from this STUNNING wedding day… our last wedding of 2020!!! ENJOY!!!!
P.S. One last thanks to all the vendors who worked around the COVID reschedule and made their day perfect!
