Kate & Matt = Merrimon Wynne House Wedding Day!

After a whole WEEK of looking at a gloomy forecast of an 80% chance of rain on their wedding day, Kate & Matt were blessed with a beautiful March day without a single drop of rain!!! It was such a HAPPY day for their family and friends to celebrate together at the beautiful downtown Raleigh Merrimon Wynne House!

If you’ve ever heard of a laid-back and chill bride – Kate was the epitome of just that. When we arrived, she was enjoying just hanging out with her girls, relaxing, and getting glam. The whole day, she was so calm, go-with-the-flow, and SO easy to work for! Her bridesmaids were all so sweet (if one beauty looks familiar, she’s another TLJ Bride of ours – click HERE to see Mary Taylor’s wedding day a few years ago! Plus you’ll see Alysia, Kate’s MOH, as one of Mary Taylor’s bridesmaids too!)

When I first walked into the Bridal Suite, Kate’s precious mom Corrine handed us a whole BASKET of goodies FOR US! It held the sweetest card, Starbucks card, Bojangles card, AND a Starbucks plush toy for our puppy Cooper!!!! It was such a thoughtful and kind thing for Kate & Corrine to do for us!!!! Thank you so so much again!!! 🙂

I had such a fun time styling all of Kate & Matt’s beautiful details (thanks to Hathaway Floral Design for giving us so many pretty blooms to use!) and then hanging out with the girls in the iconic MWH bridal suite.

Kate chose to do a First Look with her bridesmaids, and then one with both her dad, Ray (who is HILARIOUS) and with her brother, Tom! Her dad cracked a joke right before, saying “Which bald head will she hug first??” he had us all laughing! Then Matt and Kate had a First Look together, which allowed us to do so many beautiful bride & groom portraits for them!!! It was just the best!!! 🙂

The ceremony was personal and beautiful, and the way Matt reacted with emotion to seeing Kate walk down the aisle (even AFTER having a First Look together!) was sooooo sweet. I heard him tell a buddy right after the ceremony, “Things change when you see her coming down the aisle!”  How sweet is that?!

After the ceremony, Matt and Kate got to do a spontaneous “First Look” with their pup, Moose! Everyone was SO EXCITED to see him, and he looked so handsome in his bowtie! (Also, that exact same adorable leather leash was used by Mary Taylor’s pup Coach in the blog post I linked above! So cute!) I love that he was able to come to his mom & dad’s wedding day for a few minutes!!!

The reception kicked off with a bang! Kate & her dad did a remix Father/Daughter dance and it was HILARIOUS and EPIC!!! Her dad and mom were definitely the life of the party all night!!!! Kate and Matt spoiled their guests with amazing food, drinks, The Band Punch, glowsticks, cake, late night donuts, a firepit, and so many spaces to enjoy the evening.

We ended the night with a sparkler exit! It was such a happy way to end the amazing night together!!!! 🙂 We are so honored to have captured this sweet couple AND their amazing families joining as one. It was such an amazing day!!!
