Oakland Farm Wedding Day | Karey + Jacob | April 21st, 2018
After waiting 11 years (exactly) for their wedding day, Karey and Jacob’s day truly couldn’t have gone any more perfectly. We had gorgeous warm sunny weather, fun bridal parties, stunning details to photograph, floral creations everywhere, a sweet ceremony, and an awesome reception! We hope their “Vintage Elegance” wedding was everything they dreamed of – and MORE!
When we arrived, I was so amazed the girls were almost completely DONE with hair and makeup already! They were able to enjoy the afternoon and not rush to get finished. I was spoiled with the most gorgeous details to photograph, and I’m OBSESSED with Karey’s bridal shoes. BONUS POINTS that she wore the heels ALL DAY!!!!
The ceremony was so special, because that’s where Karey’s parents Nancy and Ken go married three decades ago. Mr. Ken said that was his one request, that Karey would get married in the church – and she honored his wish! The sanctuary was quaint, with beautiful light streaming in the windows. Karey choked up as she said her vows to the man she’d literally grown up alongside over the past 11 years. It was incredibly special.
We got back to Oakland Farm just in time to get the glowiest light. It was BEAUITFUL, ya’ll!!!! A funny side story, is that a horse snuck up to the fence where a groomsman (Blake, who was the GROOM in the wedding we photographed three weeks prior, here!!!) had put his sunglasses. The horse took them, and Blake had to crawl through the fence to go retrieve them! Haha!
Bride and groom portraits were stunning, as you’ll see. We soaked up literally every OUNCE of sunshine, until the sun had set behind the trees. The reception kicked off with a bang – as guests were treated to a beautiful salad, soup and entrée, all served on different china plates. LOVED IT! Guests could also get wedding cake AND an ice cream bar! One of our favorite parts of the reception was a live painter (Brittany Rawls) who made a heirloom right in front of everyone’s eyes. Sooooo special!
Karey’s unique and creative touch was everywhere – from the white draping, to the WALL of frames, photos all over the room, vintage furniture, it was truly amazing.
We hope you’ll enjoy all the photographs below! It was sure hard to narrow down our favorites. We love you, Jacob and Karey!!!! Thanks for choosing us to be a part of your gorgeous day!
