Emily & Brandon = Coastal Engagement Session!

It’s always fun to have a destination session to photograph places we don’t get to on a regular basis! One of the most beautiful places in eastern NC is Airlie Gardens, and we love the opportunity to explore the gardens… so when Emily & Brandon chose Airlie for one of their session locations, I was so excited!!!! 🙂

We had a midday time slot, and the sky was constantly going from overcast to full sun – so we had to be strategic about locations! We started off with sunshine in the most beautiful spot with Spanish moss swinging from the trees. It was so beautiful! Then, we got super blessed with overcast light at the pergola area, which is just ICONIC of Airlie, and those photos turned out soooo pretty. We even got to see lots of turtles & baby ducks in that area!

I love how Emily & Brandon laugh so easily together, and what a great team they make! While Emily was busy getting her glam done – Brandon was at home steaming & ironing all their clothes! He also drove them the long drive to Wilmington, so Emily could get a power nap – (I love a passenger princess moment, lets be honest!) – I think it’s so great when you have a partner in life and can help each other out like that! 🙂

Next up we headed to the beach! It’s a special place for them, since Wrightsville was their first trip together & they’ve spent lots of time relaxing on the beach here. When we walked onto the beach, we noticed that the water was TURQUOISE, it literally looked like we were on some international resort beach with that color!! It was beautiful! We were patient with the sunshine coming in/out since it was still midday for shooting on the beach, and posed during the pockets of overcast we got! You can tell that the beach is truly Emily’s happy place… and I loved seeing her joy when she was there!!!

We had the best time with these two exploring around so many pretty spots & capturing their love! We can’t wait for their November wedding day. I already have lots of favorite photos from their Engagement Session… so I hope you ENJOY seeing them all below!!! 🙂
