Cross + Main | Wedding Day | Cat + Brett | October 26, 2019
Four years ago, we were asked to photograph a 50th Anniversary Party for the DZ Sorority at Wilson Country Club. One of the DZ’s planning the event was Cat, and the Wilson CC chef who was her contact person was (yep you guessed it)…. Brett! They hit it off, and the rest is history! How cool that it’s come full circle with Cat & Brett choosing us to be their wedding photographers?
These two are so special! Cat is one of the sweetest, smartest, and beautiful human beings ever – and Brett is her PERFECT match: adoring her, looking out for her best interests, and making her laugh. They spent their engagement states apart, and we are amazed by their teamwork planning their wedding with barely being together in the same timezone!
Finally, the day was Saturday! All the ladies were getting glammed up at Cat’s house – in great hands with Jade (Jade Marion Hair) and Kristine (The Posh Palette). They were jamming out to an awesome playlist made by Mia, painting fingernails, drinking mimosas, and chatting! Cat spoiled us with all sorts of beautiful details to photograph, and I was in photographer heaven!
Two unique detail items were her dad’s shoes, and a white camel. Her dad’s shoes are significant because they’re the ones he graduated military school wearing, he wore them for HIS wedding, then Saturday he wore them as he gave Cat away. So special!!! So why the white camel? Burt (Cat’s dad) said when he and Cat went to Egypt, they saw white camels that are so unique they’re worth millions. When Brett asked for Cat’s hand in marriage, Burt said, “I’ll say yes if you give me a white camel.” Then, Brett came through with none other than giving Burt this WHITE CAMEL!!!!!
After shooting details, Cat got dressed, read a sweet letter from Brett, and had a First Look with her dad. We all took photos before the ceremony, and then finally got to Cross + Main to see how beautiful the ceremony space looked! Brett’s mom had done all the florals and decorating, and it looked INCREDIBLE!!! She’s so talented!
As Cat walked down the aisle to Brett, he couldn’t hold in the tears! Oh my goodness it was so sweet!!!!! I think everyone shed a tear watching him. After the ceremony, we took photos in a super cool field, and Cat was an AMAZING sport to go in the field as briars were grabbing her dress, and gnats were buzzing around! But I’d say it was worth it, because the photos turned out MAGICAL in that field!!!!
The reception kicked off with a DELICIOUS dinner (you knocked it out of the park, Rocky Top Catering!) dancing (brought to you by All Events DJ!) a photobooth, drinks (everyone came for the boos), hilarious toasts, and lots of fun!
At the end of the evening, Brett and Cat went through a tunnel of sparklers – and it was the perfect way to end such a beautiful day!
We hope you enjoy seeing our favorites from Brett and Cat’s amazing wedding day! Enjoy!!!!
