Engagement Session | Caroline & Colby | November 21st, 2020
Caroline & Colby’s love story is special to us, because it’s so similar to our own! They met in January, got engaged during COVID, and will be getting married this February – all within about a year of dating! Maybe the saying rings true, “When you know, you know!” 🙂
Colby and Caroline really wanted to get married in her hometown, but because of COVID they won’t be able to! So instead, we chose to photograph their Engagement Session back home – because it’s so meaningful to Caroline! When she dreamed of her ideal location for their session, she wanted flowers, a garden, or a field, but didn’t know how it would be possible in late November. Well…. she got EVERYTHING on her wish list with this gorgeous location – who would ever guess it was almost December when we photographed their Engagement Session?! Amazing, we were so blessed!!!
We had literally a PERFECT day for their session. It was sunny, warm, not breezy, and the prettiest “wintertime” light for their photos. I was in photographer HEAVEN!!!!! Caroline and Colby are so laid-back, and were up for anything! (Even when I asked Colby to sit in a field of fire ants he said yes, haha!)
It was the best afternoon walking around the gardens, Colby pointing out different types of plants, talking about our cats, and the boys swapping stories about LOTS OF GOLF! (Phillip was thrilled, of course!)
It was such a sweet, romantic session – UNTIL we heard birds chirping like alarm sirens and saw two of the BIGGEST hawks ever (thought they were eagles at first because of their girth and wing span!) swoop down and pluck a squirrel right off a tree!!!! One hawk carried it to a path and then started eating it RIGHT THERE!!! It was seriously one of the CRAZIEST things to ever witness during a shoot – and really sad for that poor little squirrel too!
Thankfully, we all re-gained our composure after that and finished the session with no other weird encounters HAHA!
I have SO MANY favorites from Caroline & Colby’s session, so I hope you’ll love seeing these photos below!!! ENJOY!!! 🙂
