Field Engagement Session | Beverly & Jarred | May 24, 2021
Sometimes we meet a bridesmaid and she just stands out so much that I hope and keep my fingers crossed that SOMEDAY she’ll be asking us to capture her wedding too! Beverly was exactly one of those girls! Her brother Kent was our TLJ Groom wayyyy back at the beginning of our career (our 24th wedding!) and then she was a bridesmaid just 5 weddings later for our mutual friends Erin & Chris Wheeler! (I wish I could link to their blog, but our current website doesn’t even go back that far, haha!) We’ve loved following her ever since, and were SO EXCITED when she & Jarred got engaged last year and chose us to capture their wedding! 🙂
Jarred and Beverly have gotten their photos taken together professionally twice in the last year – so for their Engagement Session they’d been dreaming of a simple field and nature as their backdrop. We were SO looking forward to their session… and I’d been scouting fields and researching for a WEEK!!!!!
Finally the big day came and there was a low chance of rain in the forecast. We decided to move forward… but as we drove to the session there was TORRENTIAL RAIN, 440 was flooded out, the scariest lightening and loudest thunder strikes, and it was just AWFUL.
We sat in our cars texting/calling back and forth looking at the radar and trying to make a decision. First, we called MULTIPLE venues in the area just desperate to find an indoor location since the rain wasn’t letting up. After no luck there, and Beverly & Jarred’s dreams of this gorgeous field location feeling desperate – we just decided to wait it out!
We went to Starbucks and came back in an hour, just as the rain slowed down. After about 2 hours of waiting – the rain was COMPLETELY gone and we decided to roll with our session finally!!!
It was SO WORTH IT! Even though the grounds were soaked (we ruined several pairs of shoes, and our dresses were drenched, but oh well!!!!!) the locations were still beautiful, and we found areas that didn’t seem too dark on a gray/overcast day! You would NEVER guess all the stress we had just gone through, and the awful weather that had just happened!!!! It was GORGEOUS!
Even better, they brought their adorable pup Tucker – and Phillip had the BEST TIME walking around with him, feeding him fruit loops, and becoming bffs together! It was sooooo cute!!!! Tucker did a great job posing too. 🙂
Beverly and Jarred trusted us through the WHOLE craziness of the afternoon, and we were sooooo grateful! They were able to relax, be themselves, and enjoy the session once we finally got started. It was a blast catching up and spending time with them!!!!
I have soooo many favorites from their session, so I hope you’ll ENJOY seeing them below!
P.S. Thanks to WINK hair & makeup for Beverly’s glam!!!
