May-Lewis Farm Farmville, NC Madeline & Travis | November 5th, 2016
We’d been looking forward to this wedding for a while! Whenever we’re with Madeline & Travis, we’re ALWAYS laughing. Travis is a big jokester, and Madeline is one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. We weren’t surprised when almost 300 people RSVP’d for their wedding – that’s how much they’re loved!!!
I LOVED shooting details at the May-Lewis Farm. The main house dates back to the Civil War, and my old soul can’t get enough of historic homes and furniture. Madeline’s colors were all bright “fall” colors – lots of oranges, yellows, and reds. When I first walked in, and saw ALL the bridesmaids were completely READY with hair and makeup already DONE, I was blown away! Most of the time girls are scrambling to get ready last minute, but Madeline’s bridesmaids were just enjoying each other and hanging out! Awesome!
Madeline’s hairstylist created the most GORGEOUS updo, and I was slightly jealous because she has such GOOD HAIR. After Madeline finished getting ready, she had a “first look” with her daddy, and it was a really special, tender moment! Travis and Madeline didn’t see each other prior to the ceremony, but they DID hold hands around a door. Travis asked Madeline if he could take a “selfie” at the end of their ceremony, and she agreed!!! Most laid-back bride ever!!!
As Madeline walked down the aisle to Travis, he wiped tears away. It was a really lovely ceremony – and Madeline’s cousin even sang a beautiful solo! The weather was perfect – and the sun was bright enough to make the November day not feel so cold.
Travis & Madeline had reserved a TON of time for Bride & Groom portraits. Normally we only get 15 minutes to shoot ALL our portraits, but they gave us almost 45 minutes! We were so honored to photograph Aaron Rodgers’ portraits – what a celebrity we had in our midst, haha!
The reception kicked off – and they treated their guests to AMAZINGLY YUMMY food, cake, drinks, and a night full of dancing. I’m pretty sure the guests danced to EVERY line dance in existence, and they had a blast all night long. The evening ended with a sparkler exit to a white limo – and it was a perfect finish to a great day.
Madeline & Travis – THANK YOU so much for allowing us to photograph your perfect wedding day. Thanks for your kindness, and even for our gift! We love it!!! You guys are wonderful, and we’re honored to know you. Have a great time starting your LONG honeymoon tomorrow!!!! We love you two!!!
