Auston & Jonathan | Wedding Day | June 25, 2022
I have been smiling ALL WEEK as I’ve been editing Auston & Jonathan’s happy wedding day!!! These two are so cute together and I’m just SO EXCITED to share a ton of my current favorite wedding photos with all of you! It’s pretty rare that a couple will have sunshine for all THREE of their sessions with us (Engagement, Bridal, and Wedding) – BUT Auston & Jonathan were blessed to have a pop of sun for all three and it was just magical! Even though they had a WINDY Engagement Session, it’s one of my favorites – click HERE if you missed it! Then Auston’s Bridal Session was full of fun & beautiful pink flowers – click HERE if you want to see her looking like a REAL MODEL! Now for their wedding day – their Bride & Groom portraits are some of my new favorites – with the beautiful sunshine, their classic style, and how stunning of a couple they make together! 🙂
Not only are they a beautiful couple on the outside – but they have big hearts and are beautiful on the inside too! The day of THEIR wedding, they sent us home with a handwritten thank you note – PLUS gift cards to treat us to both Bojangles AND Starbucks for my editing fuel! Wow, what a thoughtful and generous gift!!! THEN – bright & early the next morning before their flight to Jamaica, Jonathan texted Phillip a nice thank you message – AND Auston had texted me a sweet message already too!!! We were blown away that they were thinking of us. What an incredibly kind and thoughtful couple they are!!!!
Back to their wedding day…
We started our day photographing all of Auston’s beautiful details at her Aunt Angie’s house. Her Aunt was an absolute SAINT for allowing us to basically re-arrange every room in her house for photos. (Thank you soooo much, Ms. Angie – you’re amazing!) One of the most special parts of the details was photographing Auston’s wedding dress on a piece of furniture given to her grandparents for THEIR wedding day! How special is that?! I also loved the classic monogram on their invitation suite created by Andi Workman. SO pretty!!
The girls were all enjoying listening to music, drinking Starbucks (my kind of girls!), and getting glammed up by talented ladies! Fun fact – Beauty by Karey (Karey Nicholson) is actually a TLJ Bride herself – and it was so fun to see her and catch up! All the bridesmaids looked so comfy in their cute PJ sets, and I love that Auston’s mom Jennifer even had a satin robe to match! 🙂
After getting ready, Auston had a First Look with her sweet bridesmaids (the precious one crying is our TLJ Bride Lindsey! Click HERE to see her wedding day!) and then a First Look with her daddy! He had worked so hard to make sure the landscaping would be beautiful for photos – so thank you Mr. Damon for that! After all the bridesmaids photos, we headed to Auston’s home church for the ceremony.
Phillip was hanging out & photographing all the guys at Jonathan’s family home – and he was in heaven with guys who talk golf AND two golden retrievers (Goose & Maverick) running around! Jonathan had 8 groomsmen and 6 ushers, and they all looked so handsome in their black tuxes!
The ceremony was sweet & performed by one of Jonathan’s friends – which made it extra special! After the ceremony, Auston & Jonathan had a bright red 1955 Bellair as their getaway car – and it was absolutely in perfect condition and literally sparkling!!! It was a 30 minute drive to their reception, so I loved that Jonathan & Auston had a little alone time to chat and soak in their day together! It’s rare to have moments like that on your wedding day! 🙂
Once we arrived to Lane Tree, we photographed the Bridal Party (they have SO many friends!!!) and then Auston & Jonathan’s MAGICAL Bride & Groom portraits! The sun was just perfect, and these two model like pros. During cocktail hour, Sunset Slush was serving up delicious snow cones in custom monogramed cups – to combat the hot NC June day! What a great idea!!!!
The reception kicked off with a bang – including Auston & her dad surprising everyone with a twist to their Father/Daughter dance including wearing sunglasses! It was too cute!! Lane Tree looked beautiful with all the florals by Wendy – and I especially loved the extra tables full of framed Engagement & Bridal Session photos. That’s a wonderful way to show off more of your photos and it gives your guests something to view as they walk around during cocktail hour! The big wow factor was not only the gorgeous head table, a massive tired cake with textured layers (and a little replica of Goose on the cake), and ALSO a Photo Booth area complete with a vintage couch, a boxwood wall, and a neon sign featuring “The Crooms”! So fun!!!
After dinner, speeches, & cake cutting – we snuck out onto the golf course for a few more photos of Auston & Jonathan! Then, it was time to PARTY!!!! I loved how many people stayed on the dance floor all night – and my FAVORITE parts of the reception were: #1 when their friends lifted Jonathan & Auston into the air during dancing… and #2 when Jonathan’s BOSS all of a sudden jumped straight into a SPLIT in the middle of the dance floor!!! Everyone was in SHOCK!!!! It was hilarious!!!
The 14-hour day actually went by way too fast… and before we knew it – it was time for their sparkler exit! Auston & Jonathan exited out to a SECOND getaway car, a white Mercedes convertible! It was such a fun way to end their perfect day! 🙂
I have soooo many favorite photos to share with ya’ll from Auston & Jonathan’s happy wedding day. I hope that you’ll love all the photos as much as I do! ENJOY!
