Ashlyn Jackson | Bridal Portraits | May 4th, 2106
There’s something so special about a bride wearing a family heirloom. It’s a selfless act choosing to honor the woman who wore it before, rather than buying something new that has no meaning. Ashlyn chose to wear her great-aunt’s veil and her mother’s ring, and she couldn’t have been more beautiful.
I thought April was for showers, and May was for flowers – but May resulted in a rainstorm of flooding on Ashlyn’s original session date, so we had to reschedule at the last minute. Thankfully, it didn’t faze Ashlyn and she arrived with her entourage of 2 sisters, her mom, and her aunt.
We had nice warm weather, and when the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, we captured the most GLOWY happy portraits. I’m so glad the sun came to play, because the pop of sunshine really fits Ashlyn’s happy, sweet personality.
On the way to the session, Phillip and I had guessed about what type of dress Ashlyn would be wearing. She seemed like one of my classic and elegant brides – so I wasn’t surprised when she arrived wearing the most gorgeous gown. The top bodice was lace, with the most delicate straps that led to a deep V back, and a little bow in the middle of her back. It was the PERFECT dress for her, as it didn’t take away from her natural beauty.
I was so thankful for her sisters Alex and Abigail to help us with the dress. The ground was still really wet and some places muddy, so they assisted whenever we needed an extra hand.
We truly enjoyed every second of this Bridal Session, and Ashlyn is an absolute gem. We hope you love these portraits of a lovely girl!
