Chapel Hill Carriage House | Ashley & David | May 28th, 2016
The PERFECT combination of fun, sweet, sentimental, awesome, and beautiful was the culmination of Ashley & David’s wedding. We had a HOT and sunny day for an outdoor ceremony, and the evening cooled off enough for an outdoor reception inside the Carriage House.
While the girls were getting glam that morning, the guys were outside golfing, playing foosball, and smoking cigars. They were all a laid-back crew, and it made the day stress-free and easy! My favorite part of the morning with the girls was when Ashley dressed her son Jason in his little 5-piece tuxedo. It was such a sweet moment, and Jason was so excited to wear fancy clothes.
Ashley’s mom helped her put the wedding dress on, and it was such a sentimental moment since part of her own dress was sewn on the back of Ashley’s, and the veil was also part of hers. Ashley looked absolutely stunning. Her dad walked into the room to see her, and they both got teary-eyed up, and laughed at each other for doing so.
The ceremony was so centered on family. Jason stood at the front and helped make a family painting. Such a cool idea – and I’m SUPER impressed they didn’t get paint on their clothing too! After their vows, Ashley & David left through a tunnel of ribbon wands and bells.
A few minutes into the reception, we stole them away for sunset photographs! The lighting was perfect by the water, and we loved getting a few quiet moments with David and Ashley. The PARTY STARTED up after that, and people danced the night away! David and Ashley had so many personal touches around the entire reception. Each flower box was handmade by her dad, signage was made by friends and family, and even work friends had helped with parts! Everything came together beautifully, and looked amazing.
Ashley is so fun, at one point the band handed HER THE GUITAR, and she “fake” jammed out for a song – and looked pretty convincing doing it too 🙂 We LOVED their exit of sparklers, as they ran towards their limo. What a wonderful end to a fabulous day! We hope you enjoy a little peek into their wedding!
P.S. Don’t miss seeing Jason helping to FLY THE DRONE at the exit!
Thanks to ALL the vendors who made this day beautiful!
