Amy + Russell = Downtown Raleigh Wedding Day!

There was NO better way to kick off our 2020 wedding season than with Amy + Russell’s downtown Raleigh wedding day!!!!

Their wedding day was perfect in SO many ways: the January weather was mild and sunny, their small bridal party and families were wonderful, their ceremony was sentimental with BOTH their dads as the pastors, their concepts were beautiful – but MOST of all Amy + Russell were SO easy going and laid-back, yet also timeline conscious and their gorgeous wedding day ran sooooo smoothly!

Talk about a DREAM couple to work with!!! Amy looked stunning in her classic gown, wearing her mom’s veil, her best friend’s gold bracelet, and carrying her grandma’s handkerchief in her pocket. Russell looked so handsome in his black tux – with a touch of southern in his white paisley bowtie and vest.

It was our first time photographing at The City Club Raleigh and the First Pres Church downtown, and it’s always fun (and a challenge!) to photograph in new places!

One of my favorite parts of the day was the ceremony, because Amy’s dad is the pastor of the church. Since Russell’s dad is also a pastor, Mr. McLeod was able to walk Amy down the aisle, and then switch into his robe as both of the dads preformed the ceremony. It was so special!!!!

The reception kicked off with a bang, as Amy + Russell were able to attend part of cocktail hour since we’d done most of the photos beforehand!!! Yay! They had a delicious dinner catered by City Club, and then spoiled their guests with cake, a hot cookie & milk bar, a coffee bar, and the band Irresistible Groove kicking off the dancing!

Another highlight was seeing one of our former TLJ couples, Christine & Michael (see if you can spot them in our photos) who got married downtown Raleigh too! (Click HERE to see their wedding!)

At the end of the wonderful wedding day, Amy & Russell walked through a tunnel of sparklers to their getaway car! It was SUCH an amazing wedding day, and couldn’t have been any more perfect!!!!

We just feel so honored and blessed to have the best couples in the entire world. Amy and Russell are SO kind – can you believe they’ve already emailed and messaged us with how much they love their photos??!! So, we hope you’ll enjoy seeing LOTS MORE of my favorite photos from their day! ENJOY!!!!
