The Distillery Wedding Day | Hunter & Alexsis | January 6, 2024
Happy New Year, ya’ll! Alexsis & Hunter’s wedding day was not only our FIRST wedding of 2024, but also our FIRST wedding at The Distillery in downtown Garner. We were so excited to kick off our year with this wedding & sweet couple! 🙂
Their wedding day ended up being a cold windy, rainy day – but Hunter & Alexsis didn’t let that bother them AT ALL. Thankfully, they had already planned for an indoor wedding, AND their venue also had an overhang so we could take outdoor photos and keep them dry! Alexsis had been such a chill bride during our whole time working together, and the wedding day was no different. Both she and Hunter were sooooo sweet, laid-back, trusting, and were seriously a DREAM to photograph! They were the perfect example of embracing their wedding day (no matter what it brings) and ENJOYING the day! 🙂
We started off their day photographing beautiful details! I absolutely loved all the different blues used during the day! We were spoiled with lots of pretty florals & items to photograph – especially those blue bridal heels! I loved those!!! The girls were all getting glammed and wearing cute robes & fuzzy socks. They had coffees from back home in Burlington & lots of snacks to enjoy. I really loved Alexsis’ bridesmaids – and they were ALL so helpful & kind!
Phillip got to hang out with the guys and photograph them at the Distillery and the bar next door! They were such a fun group of guys – many of which played college baseball together! They definitely brought the personality all day!
What made Alexsis and Hunter’s wedding day extra special was the fact that Hunter (a 5th generation flower farmer) and his family grew ALL of those flowers you see in the photos!!! How amazing is that?! I knew the florals would be special because of that reason, but when I saw that ceremony arch (that Alexsis’ dad actually made!) that was OVER THE TOP gorgeous with all those hundreds (if not thousands) of floral details all over it – I was blown away! It was the perfect backdrop for photos!!
The ceremony was officiated by a family friend (Caroline, who is a bridesmaid, it was her mom!) and it was so beautiful. I was at the front when Alexsis was beginning to walk down the aisle, and Hunter said, “I’m going to cry” – it was the sweetest thing ever!!
After the ceremony, we were able to go outside for photos thankfully, and everyone was troopers in the cold and wind! Alexsis and Hunter are photogenic and made our jobs so easy. I especially loved her longgggg veil, and the bow that she added to the back of her dress was such a unique and fun touch! Some of my favorite photos of them are actually in front of the floral arch because of the significance of BOTH their family’s hard work!
The reception kicked off with a bang! Hunter and Alexsis treated their guests to a yummy dinner (those mashed sweet potatoes were amazing) an open bar with 2 signature cocktails, SO much dancing, wedding cake, a dessert table with cookies & donuts, and even a coffee bar with every flavor/topping you could imagine! It was so much fun to watch Hunter’s groomsmen have the absolute BEST TIME on the dance floor! They were loving it!
Thank you so much, Alexsis and Hunter, for allowing us to capture your beautiful wedding day! It was such an honor to kick off our 2024 year with YOU! I can’t wait to share lots of my favorite photos from their gorgeous day below! ENJOY!
P.S. One last big thanks to the entire vendor team who pulled off an incredible day!
