Crystal & Stephen = Epic Sailboat Anniversary Session!

It’s always a DREAM when I get the chance to photograph these two! We’ve had the honor of photographing everything from their proposal to wedding day – so when Crystal came up with the idea of an Anniversary Session, I was 1000% onboard (get it? haha)  Crystal is always so creative with ideas for photography – and this time was no exception! She planned a SAILBOAT SESSION!!! Crystal did HOURS of research to find a sailboat for our session. She also picked out the most gorgeous dress with a matching neck scarf that I am OBSESSED with and I was sooooo pumped to photograph it! :)

We were originally supposed to shoot Crystal and Stephen’s Anniversary Session in May, but the captain had to cancel due to weather! Now almost 2 months later… it was finally time! But on our long drives (almost 6 hour round trip drive for us!) it was RAINING!! We trusted the captain and they thought we’d have clear skies if we sailed into a different area! Our captain did a great job of navigating us around the storms so we only had a few rain sprinkles at the beginning!! We all laughed because it was WAY harder than we thought to stand on a MOVING boat in the waves and the wind – and still pose and not fall overboard!! It was a lot of trust on behalf of Crystal and Stephen and I was really impressed with them. They absolutely killed it!!! 

After we photographed for a while, we took a break to have an incredible charcuterie board – full of local items like figs & blueberries! It was soooo yummy and beautifully presented too! We finished the night with some EPIC drone photos and videos (Phillip did an amazing job with those!!) and then Crystal and Stephen ended the sail by actually jumping INTO the water!!! It was so fun and unique!!! 

It was such an incredible experience with our friends & we are so thankful they chose us to capture it for them! We are blessed to have them in our lives & all the adventures we have gone on together. I can’t wait for ya’ll to see all my favorite photos from their EPIC sailboat session below. ENJOY!!!
