Ashley & Cody = Rustic Barn Wedding Day!

After planning together for almost 1.5 years, it was finally Ashley & Cody’s wedding day!! It was an extra special day for us, since Ashley was actually one of Phillip’s former STUDENTS back when he used to teach drafting in a local high school! It was fun for Phillip to see several former students at their wedding, and their wedding planner Mrs. Terri Boykin is also the Mother of the Groom of a former TLJ Groom, Nathan Boykin from many years ago! It was so fun having so many connections there!! 🙂

Ashley was such an easy-going bride – even with all the things the weather threw at us on their wedding day! When we arrived, there was heavy smoke from a wildfire that was so thick it was like fog! Then we had rain, overcast, then full sun, heavy wind gusts all day, and then a MONSOON with flooding and hail!!! How crazy is all of that?! But with all of those crazy weather things – Cody and Ashley just trusted their vendors & made for a beautiful Plan B!!!! 🙂

The girls were having the best time getting glammed up, eating snacks, and jamming to music over in a red barn! I loved that all the girls spent the night together & could enjoy being at the venue for longer! Ashley’s bridesmaids packed her a little honeymoon basket full of necessities, and then surprised her with a special scrapbook they made full of letters and photos. It was so sweet!

I had fun photographing all of their details! Fun fact – I designed their wedding invitation suite too! So it was extra special styling my own work!! The whole time I was photographing details & the girls getting ready, Phillip was so sweet and carried 100 chairs upstairs & helped set up their ceremony Plan B in the upstairs barn loft. I just love his servants heart!!! He’s the best.

One of my favorite parts of the morning was Ashley’s First Look with her dad & brother. Both men were just so emotional seeing her, and wiping away tears. It was seriously the sweetest!!!! How special to be so loved & have such amazing men in her life!

The ceremony was upstairs in the loft, and honestly it was a STUNNING Plan B location! What normally would be a Bridal Suite become the perfect spot for Ashley & Cody to get married. I loved all the chandeliers making it so magical in there!!

After the ceremony it was time for photos! It was raining, but thankfully we had a beautiful porch/overhang area to use! Then, the rain stopped, the full sun popped out – and we went outside for their bride & groom portraits! It was amazing!!!

The reception kicked off with food by Bill’s Grill, a whole dessert table by Around the Table, dancing with glow sticks, drinks from Brewmasters, and some really sweet speeches.

Our evening ended with a sparkler exit (thankful for the overhang since it was raining REALLY hard during the exit) and THEN Ashley & her bridesmaids changed into comfy matching sweatpants so they could really party!!! Ashley prefers to be comfortable rather than fancy – so it couldn’t have been any more perfect for her!!! I loved seeing her so happy and comfy!! 🙂
