Bridal Portrait Session | New Bern, NC | Suzanne Hackney | July 24, 2017
When Suzanne texted asking if navy-colored fingernails would photograph well, our minds played a fun game of wondering what kind of unusal wedding dress Suzanne would be wearing. Suzanne is a very fun-loving bride, and she LOVES things that are “different” (like her engagement ring!!!) We wondered….would her dress be a crazy color, an unusual cut/style?
Suzanne walked out in the most GORGEOUS satin wedding dress, with an ivory tone that suited her tan perfectly. There were really pretty buttons in the back, and a beautifully long train. She was STUNNING – and blew us away (in a REALLY good way) with her choice of wedding gown.
She had a gold hair pin above her bun, and a delicate gold nautical “knot” bracelet that matched her custom Churchwell’s engagement ring and the theme of “nautical” really well. Her shoes were a fun pop of navy blue – and they were SUPER feminine and such a neat style. WE LOVED THEM!!!
We photographed Suzanne’s Bridal Session at their wedding venue, and it was really neat to shoot somewhere brand new and be creative. Phillip found a really PERFECT spot on the sand with Spanish moss hanging down, and it was a GEM.
It was SUCH a HOT DAY, and there wasn’t much breeze, so Suzanne was a trooper posing for 2 hours in the July heat….and just embraced the day. Phillip fanned her as much as he could, but still Suzanne ROCKED it out!
We were so thankful for Suzanne’s entourage of her mom, Sherry, mother-in-law Roseann, and wedding director, Ashley. They were HUGE help by carrying her dress, the bouquet, and even some of our gear!
It was SO much fun to photograph Suzanne near the water – and even incorporate a sailboat that was going by – since those 2 things are such a BIG part of her and Eric’s relationship.
It was SUPER hard to narrow down our favorites, so enjoy a loooooong Sneak Peek of the NEW Mrs. LaRoque!
