Suzanne & Eric = WEDDING DAY!

If rain HAD to happen at a wedding…we’re so thankful it happened to the most EASY-GOING, fun, laid-back bridal party! Suzanne, Eric, and their bridal parties embraced every bit of the day and had a BLAST with whatever the weather was throwing at them.

We started the day photographing Suzanne and Eric’s nautical details – wood elements, navy, sea critters, and gold touches. Their rings are the MOST unusual rings we’ve ever photographed – using jewels from family heirlooms to create the engagement ring!!

Suzanne got ready in the happiest sunny room – and all the girls lounged in comfy pjs and drank champagne. Suzanne was absolutely RADIANT that morning, she was so calm and relaxed, making my job a BREEZE.

Eric is one of the most involved grooms we’ve EVER had. He was tackling projects up until the minute he had to get ready!!! He did everything from tie the sailors knots for the boutonnières to create the signage for the wedding. It was so cool to see a groom so hands on!

We had the sun peek out for Eric and Suzanne’s First Look, and it was PERFECT seeing Eric’s smile as he turned around and saw his bride. As usual, Suzanne was no-fuss as she walked barefoot, and Eric helped bustle her dress and hold the train.

JUST as the outdoor waterfront ceremony was to start, it began to rain. Everyone was great sports, and we moved forward with the ceremony as usual! Suzanne’s Maid of Honor, Brooke, officiated the ceremony and did a wonderful job as she was getting rained on!! As they were pronounced husband and wife, the skies OPENED UP and it began POURING on us as they walked out. It was as if God was holding off the downpour until just the right time.

The bridal party were (again) so awesome to pose in the RAIN, and then we headed into the reception! Suzanne’s dad made ALL the food and cakes for the reception…and the salmon was AMAZING. After toasts and the best cake smash, the dancing began! We even were able to sneak Eric and Suzanne outside for a few photos on the dock when the rain stopped!!!

They exited through a tunnel of glow sticks….and then the AWESOME thing happened: the bridal party JUMPED IN THE POOL!!!! It was such a crazy, fun way to end the evening!
