Engagement Session | Miranda + Patrick | October 9, 2019
The weather just wasn’t cooperating for Miranda + Patrick’s long-awaited Engagement Session – so last minute we had to change locations from a destination session in New Bern, to Raleigh. THEN, the day stayed really dark and gray, windy, and although forecasting said 0% chance of rain, it was RAINING. So many people would have let that affect their mood – but Patrick and Miranda were AMAZING!!!! They were laughing, joking around, having fun, and just being an absolute JOY to photograph!!!!!
Miranda and Patrick did SUCH a great job on their outfits. I loved the combinations they chose, and they photographed beautifully! The wind actually helped her navy dress blow and catch in a pretty way! Patrick wasn’t feeling well, yet you’d NEVER know it! He was a great sport – laughing, playing around, and up for all the things I asked him to do!!!! He was awesome!!!
Miranda and Patrick brought their sweet little pup Benson to the session, and I’m not quite sure who had more fun exploring around – us or him! He was loving sniffing around the park and was just adorable! Miranda’s precious mom came to help with Benson, and she was SO sweet!!!!
Remember that I said we were initially bummed to reschedule locations? Well it turned out to be a HUGE BLESSING because Miranda’s mom came up to us with tears in her eyes, and said “these are PECAN trees!” Miranda’s grandpa who passed away when she was just seven years old used to shuck pecans with her – and they miss him so much. It was such a sign that he was there watching over Miranda and Patrick, and as if he gave his big stamp of approval on their upcoming marriage. How cool is that?! Miranda later said this location was WAY more meaningful than New Bern would ever be. (That’s why we took a picture with her ring on a pecan!)
Phillip and I left their session talking about how much we love Patrick and Miranda already. They are so sweet, kind, easy going, and FUN!!! We hope you’ll love seeing my favorite images below!!!!
