Mary Margaret + John Wesley = WEDDING DAY!

Mary Margaret & John Wesley’s wedding goes down as one of the most quintessentially southern weddings we’ve ever had… and I loved every single minute of it!!

There was so much significance, thought, and meaning put behind every little detail of their wedding day, and I loved hearing all the stories. First of all, the church they got married in was the same one Mary Margaret’s parents said their vows, and their reception venue is a family vineyard! Mary Margaret’s engagement diamond was John Wesley’s grandma’s first diamond, the perfume she chose was the perfume her grandma wore as her husband came home from the army, her veil was her mom’s veil, her bracelet is “something borrowed” from her godmother, and the getting ready location she chose is her childhood home. How special is all that??

We kicked off the morning photographing all the details and getting-ready at Mary Margaret’s parents home. The team of ladies from John Michael’s were rocking out hair and makeup, and were so quick, efficient, and did a beautiful job! I really loved the hydrangea robes that Mary Margaret chose for her bridesmaids to wear, and I used hydrangeas from her mom’s backyard in the detail photos  to tie everything in together!

Mary Margaret and John Wesley chose another piece of family property for their First Look and portraits, and there was a HUGE oak tree that her grandma loved. We took all our portraits there, and it was so pretty!!!

A day that COULD have been chaotic with 5 locations, a 37-person bridal party, and 500 guests all in 93 degrees was instead one of the BEST DAYS EVER…. all because of how KIND, loving, and FUN every single person we encountered were! Mary Margaret was bursting with laughter all day with the BIGGEST smiles, John Wesley was joking around and having the best time, and the bridal parties were a ton of fun and just really sweet!

After their ceremony, everyone headed over to the reception! It was a HUGE event fit for their 500 guests – with a 3-peaked white tent, a lounge area with cocktail tables, and then all the food buffets were indoors!  They had the BIGGEST cake I’ve ever seen, multiple bars with signature cocktails and wine straight from the vineyard, Brittany Rawls live painting their first dance on site, and the MOST FUN band (The Band Punch) jamming all night long!!!!

One of my favorite moments was John Wesley’s sister Madison performing a rap she wrote, including props, and did an awesome job! As the night went on, they brought out glow sticks, and the dance floor was PACKED with everyone having a great time. The day flew by so fast, and at the end of the evening, Mary Margaret and John Wesley walked through a tunnel of sparklers out to a vintage car! It was the perfect way to end a gorgeous day!!!!!
