Meagan & Lee = Wedding Day!

It was finally HERE! After planning countless weddings for clients, it was finally Meagan’s own wedding day! When Meagan and Lee asked us to photograph their wedding, we were so honored because they work with other fantastic photographers on a regular basis. PLUS they were getting married at the Bluegrass Barn, where WE got married, so it’s a special venue in our hearts!

I loved shooting Meagan’s detail items in the quirky barn. It’s such a unique place, and we wanted to incorporate all the wood and the unusual items in the barn. Meagan’s blue shoes were ADORABLE and reminded me of Mary Poppin’s-style shoes! Lee’s mom actually made ALL the bouquets AND centerpieces, so it was special incorporating a family-made bouquet to the details.

Phillip had an absolute BLAST shooting Lee’s getting ready photographs. When I got back to the barn, Phil came up to me and said, “Lee MODELED for me!” and was so excited. It’s awesome when the Groom is up for anything, and makes Phillip’s job easy by posing and having FUN with it!

Meagan was NO exception. With her theatre and dance background, she turned on a mega-watt smile whenever the camera was near! Her hair was absolutely GORGEOUS, done by the super-talented Melody Speight Raper (a former Tiffany L. Johnson bride!!!!) and Meagan was truly glowing. I photographed her awesome bridal party downtown, and then we all headed to the barn!

Lee shed TEARS when Meagan walked down the aisle. Every time a groom does that, it makes me have a HUGE love for the heart of that groom! The ceremony was so unique with handwritten vows (and props!!!), speeches from friends, a wine box ceremony, and a beautiful solo.

One of our favorite parts of the evening was the GROOMSMEN DANCE! Lee and all his guys had practiced a 5 MINUNTE DANCE to perform. Meagan’s mom owns Studio B (a dance studio downtown) and had taught them awesome choreography for a great song mix. It was SO GOOD!!!! The reception had SO MUCH DANCING – both choreographed and just really good dancers out on the dance floor. It was fun!

We came away from this wedding saying how TRULY NICE both the bridal parties were, and how incredibly kind and helpful they were to Phillip and I. We loved shooting Meagan and Lee’s wedding, and hope you enjoy this sneak peek into their day!
