Courtney + Cody = Wedding Day!

I can’t even describe the sheer JOY that radiates from Courtney! Her smile is infectious, and Cody’s quiet and adoring love of her is precious. Their First Look was so emotional and beautiful, it made ME cry too!!

We started the morning with alarms set to 5:00AM, and arrived in Raleigh at 6:45am! Melody Raper and Rebecca Bone were already hard at work styling the bridesmaids updos! All the bridesmaids were SO SWEET and kind to us, and we fell in LOVE with Courtney’s sister (and MOH) Lindsey.

Courtney put a lot of thought into her details. Her veil was her MOM’s, that she’d worn 30 years ago getting married in the same exact church. The beautiful sapphire necklace was a Princess Di replica that is Courtney’s Grandma’s. The handkerchief is also something old/borrowed. The delicate pearl earrings are ones Cody gave Courtney back when they first started dating! Even the bouquets were made by Courtney and her mom!

It was a bit chilly and windy, but everyone were great sports and AMAZINGLY ON TIME for portraits! We knocked out ALL the portraits after Cody and Courtney’s sweet First Look, and were ready for the 12:00pm ceremony!!!

The ceremony was special because Courtney’s grandfather helped officiate the service. He was the pastor there years ago, and was proud to marry his granddaughter to Cody. Pastor Kermit was not only heartfelt, but also HILARIOUS!!! We just love their families so much!!!

After the service, we snuck outside for a few more portraits, and then it was time for the reception!!! Courtney and I had been talking about their dessert for literally A YEAR, and she’s our Cupcake Queen bride!!!! She had Gigi’s cupcakes, Barrett’s cookies for each guest & a biscuit bar (with homemade jellies by Cody’s dad!!!) and then a whole buffet of Dickey’s Barbecue. YUMMMM!

We were so honored to capture the love story of these amazing people. Courtney and Cody, your wedding goes down in history as one of our FAVORITES EVER!!!!!! You are precious people, and we are better for having known you and your families! We love you both!!!
