Claudia & Bo = Duke University Engagement Session!

My favorite style of sessions are ones that are a little more elegant and classic – ones that will still be “in vogue” 50 years later when you’re looking back at photos. When Claudia & Bo suggested taking photos at Duke University (where Claudia is currently taking classes to become a Family Nurse Practitioner!) I was SO excited because the campus is very stately with old-world vibes. 🙂

It’s been over FIVE years since we’ve photographed on the campus, and when we arrive I literally walked around in awe. I had forgotten how beautiful the grounds were, and the buildings truly felt like I was in Europe again!!! Then… Claudia & Bo walked up in the most beautiful formal outfits (yet with fun accessories!) and I was soooooo happy!!! They couldn’t have picked a better style to fit the traditional backgrounds we chose – and I was excited to see their vision come together. 🙂

Sometimes we get lucky with a bride who’s photogenic and natural, and sometimes it’s vice versa with the groom enjoying hamming it up for the cameras – but it’s rare to find a couple where BOTH people seem natural and are modeling with ease. I was blown away when I realized both Claudia AND Bo were naturals, and they even had ideas of their own for poses!!!! We had the BEST afternoon just being creative together, having fun, and exploring the pretty areas of the campus.

The funny thing was the timing. Since it was an overcast day, we had to start the session earlier than normal – and it just happened to be RIGHT when classes were letting out. There were students streaming out of buildings everywhere, getting into buses, walking home, standing around talking, skateboarding, and it was a little chaotic. Just our luck, haha! BUT instead of letting that phase them with the extra people around watching – Claudia and Bo stayed focused on each other and did an AMAZING job regardless!!!!

I have so many favorites already from our session together. My heart is just so happy from our session! Bo and Claudia made my job a breeze, and I can’t wait for ya’ll to see the photos for yourselves. I can’t wait to hear which photos are your favorites! ENJOY!!!!!
