Caroline & Daniel | Engagement Session | April 8, 2022
At almost exactly the 6-month mark from their wedding day, we had the honor of photographing Daniel & Caroline’s Engagement Session! After their #1 choice of location fell through due to events happening there on our session day, they chose these beautiful gardens as their backdrop instead! I was anticipating their session with excitement SO much – because we’d had such a fun meeting at Panera with them a few months ago, and ALSO because they both showed up to that meeting dressed impeccably. I just knew everything about their Engagement Session would be epic! 🙂
When we walked up and saw Daniel and Caroline in the most southern, chic outfits my photographer’s heart did a happy dance (offbeat and with two left feet of course, haha) I’d actually been obsessed with Caroline’s EXACT dress after seeing it on a Charleston wedding photographer, so the fact I was getting the chance to shoot Caroline wearing it was SO exciting for me!!! Daniel always has amazing style, and he wore 2 custom jackets and wore the most handsome square-toed dress shoes. Love love love!!!
The very second I took the first photo, I just KNEW this session would be one for the books! As a former cheerleader with a dance background, every single movement Caroline made was feminine, photogenic, and just stunning. Daniel surprised me completely and held his own with modeling and did an AMAZING job!!!! They literally couldn’t have made our jobs any easier. What a DREAM Caroline & Daniel are to photograph! Wow!!!!
We’d been keeping an eye on the weather, and even though we only had a 1% chance of rain for their session – Phillip and i got rained on TWICE during our drive to the gardens! THEN we ran into another obstacle when we arrived – it was PROM NIGHT in the gardens!!! There were families and prom kids ALL OVER while we scouted locations. I knew we’d have to be super creative and work around all the people. Thankfully, the rain held off for our whole session, we were able to work around the crowds once prom people left, and they braved the chilly afternoon & wind like champs! The sun would go from peeking out in full force, and then immediately hide behind dark storm clouds – so we got a mixture of all types of light!! Daniel and Caroline were patient and understanding of all the positioning we had to do thanks to the ever-changing light we were dealing with! They were just amazing. 🙂
Okay friends….I’ll stop talking now and share my favorite photos with ya’ll! I can’t wait for you to see some of my current top faves from Daniel & Caroline’s absolutely beautiful Engagement Session. Check back in 6 months for a peek into their Walnut Hill wedding day! ENJOY!!!
