Merrimon Wynne | Wedding Day | Beverly & Jarred | December 4, 2021
I’ve been secretly looking forward to Beverly’s wedding day for SIX years – ever since I met Beverly while photographing her brother’s wedding (click HERE to see Kent & Danielle’s wedding!) and then again a year later when she was a bridesmaid in Chris & Erin’s wedding. (Click HERE to view their wedding – Phillip was actually a groomsman too!) Sometimes I just vibe with a bridesmaid and secretly hope that someday they’ll book us when their time comes around!!!! When Beverly & Jarred got engaged & reached out to us – Phillip and I were BOTH beyond honored and excited to photograph their wedding! 🙂
From our very first official meeting – sitting outside Panera (freezing cold) during a pandemic and we chatted for THREE hours, we knew they were special. Then during this last year, Phillip and I have been absolutely SPOILED by Beverly & Jarred. They sent us dozens of Baked by Melissa mini cupcakes, Beverly gifted me Starbucks when she saw I was having a busy week of editing, then when Bev found out I love all things Bachelor & listen to Off the Vine podcast she sent me DewEdit scrunchies, on their wedding day they gave us a thank you card AND a gift…. AND THEN the day after the wedding when I posted Sneak Peeks Beverly texted me the sweetest messages – and has literally been giving me words of affirmation about their photos EVER SINCE. We feel so so so so loved. Truly the most selfless, thoughtful people ever.
I was so nervous for Beverly & Jarred’s wedding day because I really wanted to knock it out of the park for them. Thankfully, our job was so easy – their wedding was absolutely incredible – from the venue, the vendor team, the over-the-top florals, the color scheme, the woodland/garden vibes, the details, a fun bridal party, the most precious couple to photograph, and perfect weather. What a truly amazing day!!!! 🙂
We arrived to Merrimon and all the girls were enjoying getting glam by WINK! Beverly is so thoughtful that she was sitting in her bridal PJs writing THANK YOU NOTES to people. What most people didn’t know was that her dad was sent to the hospital the night before – and wouldn’t be able to make it to Beverly’s wedding day. The worst news, yet here Beverly was – holding it together and thinking of OTHERS during that moment.
We started off our day by photographing their INSANELY beautiful details. That wedding invitation suite is hands down one of my FAVORITES EVER – so unique!!! Knowing how much Beverly loves black, I tried out something super different and photographed their suite on black velvet! I love how they turned out. Next it was time for Beverly to get ready! Beverly’s two MOH’s were soooo helpful the whole day, and made my job easier! We had a sweet First Look with the bridesmaids, and then it was time for Beverly & Jarred to finally see each other!
We photographed a ton of Bride & Groom portraits in a short period of time, and I’m obsessed with the variety and vision Beverly & I collaborated on for the portraits! We also knocked out ALL their Bridal Party & Family Portraits before the ceremony – so everyone was a trooper!!!
The ceremony was extra special because they had a close friend officiate. The ceremony was personal with so many stories and details woven in, with Jarred & Beverly reading their own personal vows. Guests threw rose petals as they recessed down the aisle as husband and wife!!!! 🙂
We got to photograph the carriage house reception details as candles were flickering, and the sun was setting. It looked absolutely MAGICAL in there – so many textures, florals, and vessels to create such visual interest! Beverly had hoped for a “woodland/garden” theme – and WOW it was exactly that.
Beverly & Jarred were able to join cocktail hour, and greet all their guests as they entered into the reception. The reception kicked off with first dances – and since Beverly’s dad wasn’t there – she took turns dancing with her 4 brothers. Not a dry eye was in that reception I can promise you. They treated their guests to a Mexican dinner (chips, guac, and salsa ON the tables for guests! EPIC!!!!) and even asked to make sure we had eaten. (Soooo thoughtful!) Their custom drink was a “Tuckerita” (a marg named after their sweet pup Tucker!) and they had tons of mini cheesecake flavors for guests to choose from as dessert!
Jarred and Beverly exited through a tunnel of bubbles with their beautiful floral arch behind them. It was a PERFECT exit – colorful, fun, unique, happy – just like the two of them.
It was such an honor to capture Jarred & Beverly’s wedding day! I have so many favorites to show you – so I hope you ENJOY!!!!
