Wedding Day | Goldsboro, NC | Angela & Cameron | June 3, 2017
After 8 YEARS of dating and 6 months of planning, my little sister Angela married her MIDDLE SCHOOL sweetheart, Cameron. Even though we always knew they’d eventually get married, I can’t believe their wedding day has already come and gone!
Angela & Cameron wanted a small, “bohemian” themed, FUN wedding. Our family worked so hard [well, really MOM gets all the credit] to make their dream wedding happen – from Phillip building farm tables and an arbor & hanging tulle curtains, to my mom sewing those tulle curtains, to Angela making her OWN wedding cake, to Aunt Linda making all the bouquets, me designing all the invitations and signage, Kristy planning the photo-booth, Cameron planning all the music, and the Avery’s unloading all the rentals – it was a family effort all around.
We had a BEAUTIFUL day for an outdoor wedding. Hair and makeup began in the morning, then all the girls snacked and got ready at the Dale’s house in Wilson. It was a perfect, relaxing space for us to get ready.
This wedding was a little different for us – because I was Matron of Honor, and ALSO photographing. Phillip was on double-duty as head photographer, driving back and forth between the girls / guys getting ready houses, to capture any photos that I had to be part of. It’s all because of Phillip that I was able to be so involved in my sister’s wedding, and I’m so thankful!!!
Angela gifted all the bridesmaids beautiful floral robes, and hangers with our monogram on them. It was SO comfy and really cute to get ready wearing those!!! Cam gifted all the guys superhero socks – each groomsmen had a different hero. We were all spoiled!!! (Angela and Cameron were really thoughtful throughout the whole wedding process too….Phillip and I counted over TEN thank-you notes they wrote us throughout the 6 months of planning!!!!)
Angela had been SUPER SECRETIVE about her dress/details leading up to the wedding – only my sister Kristy, myself, and my mom Darla knew what the dress/details looked like. So when Daddy had his First Look with Angie and saw her for the first time in all her wedding glory, it was SO SPECIAL!!!! He couldn’t get over how beautiful she looked.
It was finally time for the ceremony, and I could put down the camera & relax as Matron of Honor!!! I wasn’t emotional or going to cry – UNTIL I saw Cameron turn around and see Angela for the first time walking down the aisle, and he was CRYING…..so then I started BAWLING when I saw how proud/happy/in awe Cameron was of my little sister. WHAT A MOMENT!!!!!!
The ceremony was very Christ-centered and personal. It was so wonderful to soak it all in, and see my sister and new brother say their vows, then go sit together and pray. What a beautiful ceremony it was!!!
SIDE NOTE – We’re so grateful to Chelsea & Will of Chelsea Collins Photography [they were OUR wedding photographers too!] to team up with Phillip and photograph the barn detail shots, the ceremony, AND our family portraits. I was able to enjoy the ceremony without having to shoot it – I’m so thankful!
Phillip rocked out Bridal Party portraits – I got to pose everyone and he photographed, and we had the most beautiful glowy sun!!! Then- It was time for Bride/Groom portraits, and the sun was dropping FAST!!!! Angela and Cameron are SO PHOTOGENIC, so photographing them together was easy, and fun. I wish we’d scheduled 20-30+ minutes, because I could’ve photographed them FOREVER!!!!
The reception was SO FUN – with a yummy cocktail hour, Pelican Snowballs serving snow cones for the warm day, Porchetta Food Truck serving super delicious entrees, a photobooth full of props, several yard games, Angela’s “bridal portrait wall”, speeches, cake cutting, and lots of people dancing.
Before we even knew it, it was time for Angela & Cameron to leave! They ran through a tunnel of sparklers out to his Grandparents old Bronco (with the windows decorated!) They waved off, and headed to St. Lucia!!!!
I’ve never been so honored to photograph a wedding in my lifetime, and it was thanks to all the help (Phillip, Chelsea, Will) and the pre-planning that went into the day! [I’ve also never been so emotional to EDIT a wedding before!!!! Good grief, I CRIED EVERY DAY editing this!!!!]
I’m SO HAPPY for my sister Angela and her new HUSBAND, Cameron!!! I wish them all the happiness in the world! I’m so happy to have a new brother!!!! WE LOVE YOU BOTH!!!!!
