Flower Garden Bridal Session | Amy Speight | August 16th, 2017
I can’t tell you HOW SPECIAL it is to photograph the second Speight woman as a bride. When Amy chose us as their wedding photographers we were incredibly honored since she’d been the Maid of Honor in her sister Melody’s wedding we photographed a few years ago!
Amy chose the location of a flower garden for her Bridal Session. It was an enchanting little place full of flowers, herbs, sculptures, and water features. We got there early to scout the location, and it was RAINING and dark and overcast while we walked around. Phillip and I were praying that the rain would clear out in time!!!
Thankfully, Amy was a GREAT sport and didn’t mind the HOT MUGGY day, the gnats, and the dampness from the rain that passed through. She looked SO stunning in her one-shoulder gown, and it had sparkly details on the torso and on the bottom of the dress! Her makeup AND up-do was done by her sister, Melody, (who is our former bride AND the BEST wedding up-do stylist, by the way!!!!) and had dainty little sprigs of baby’s breath tucked into her curls.
Amy’s bouquet was on a bible that has been passed down through the women in the family for several generations. The bible was bought by her great-grandmother, and given to her grandmother to carry on her wedding day! I LOVE the tradition that the women have kept, and each chose the lace and flowers to suit their style. The brooch on Amy’s bouquet is also an heirloom piece!!!
Amy did a WONDERFUL job of posing in the heat with all the gnats – with the biggest smile on her face. She made our job easy!!! A big thanks to Amy’s Nana for bringing the baby’s breath, her mom and sister for helping us carry all the gear and props, and Phillip for fanning away all the bugs!!!!
We hope you’ll enjoy these garden Bridal Portraits of our sweet bride, Amy!!!!
