The Big Barn Theatre Wedding | Goldsboro, NC | Amy + Seth | October 7, 2017
What a special wedding this was for Phillip and I! We had the honor of photographing Amy’s sister’s Engagement, Bridal, and Wedding, and then Amy also chose us to photograph her Engagement, Bridal, and Wedding!!! I’ve known the Speight family for almost 2 decades, and it’s such an honor to be a part of their special moments.
Since Seth is a farmer, they chose a rustic farm theme for their wedding day. The Big Barn Theatre in Goldsboro was a perfect backdrop for their style, with a wooden wall interior that lent itself to the rustic theme! Both families put a TON of work into decorating EVERY INCH of the venue. From the outside to every corner of the inside, the Speight and Raynor families put their own touch!
Some of the extra special decorations were: all the hand painted signage by Amy’s sister Melody, a John Deere tractor inherited from the bride’s grandfather, and the cake knife was actually a custom fireman’s AXE – since Seth is also a firefighter!
The getting ready portion of the morning was so sweet – Amy’s sister Melody is a SUPER talented hairstylist and makeup artist – so she did finishing touches with adding delicate baby’s breath into Amy’s hair. Another sweet moment was when Seth’s mom, Marcia, helped put in Amy’s veil (that Marcia made!) – a few tears were shed!
Although there was only a 10-20% chance of rain for the day – we had dark gray clouds threatening us all morning – and the skies opened to DUMP a few times during the day! God was good and the rain slowed enough for us all to run outside for portraits when needed. So awesome – an answer to prayer!!!!
The ceremony was beautiful – and our two favorite parts were blessing of the rings, and then Amy’s sister singing a duet. Amy’s brother, Seth, was also a huge help – as he controlled all the music for the wedding!
Amy and Seth treated their guests to a salad & buffet, and then TONS of dessert with a cobbler, ice cream, and wedding cake!!! (The wedding cake was DELICIOUS – we had a piece!)
At the end of the evening, Amy and Seth went through a tunnel of sparklers to a HUGE tractor as their getaway vehicle! It was a very fitting end to their day!!!
We are SO HAPPY for these two as they begin their life together! We hope you’ll enjoy our favorite photos from their wedding day!!!
